Minutes
November 13, 2000
Members of the Euless Historical Preservation Committee met at
10 : 00 a.m. at the Fuller House, 203 Cullum Drive .
Members Present
Weldon Cannon, Michelle Burger, Betty Fuller, Don Tharp, Willie
Mae McCormick, Vada Johnson, Iva Nail, Robert Nail, Troy Fuller,
Bill Byers, Evelyn Himes, Jean Whitener, Helen Payton and Helen
Lightbody

Call to Order
Chairman Bill Byers called the meeting to order at 10 : 00 a.m.
Approval of Minutes
A motion was made by Troy Fuller and seconded by Robert Nail to
approve the minutes of the October 9, 2000 meeting. Motion
passed.
Old Business
Betty Fuller reported that she was docent for the month of
October at the Fuller House. The Fuller House was not open for
visitors on November 12 .
Treasurer Robert Nail reported that we have a $1846. 46 balance.
Travis Booher donated $2000 to the Himes Log House in memory of
his mother and father.
Bill Byers reported that Gary McKamie is looking into setting up
the Historical Committee as a Foundation, and as such, it would
function tax-free.
Christmas Event, December 9, Heritage Park
Glenda Hartsell discussed with the Committee the proposed events
of the evening. This discussion included various decorating
suggestions, ornaments, tree decorations to fit the time frame of
the Fuller House and the Himes Log House . A Suggestion was made

by Helen Payton that we buy a Christmas tree with lights which
would be used year after year. Troy Fuller made a motion,
seconded by Betty Fuller that we purchase a tree . The motion
passed. Ivan Nail and Helen Payton volunteered to purchase the
tree. Home Depot volunteered to provide a live tree to be used
at the Himes Log House . This tree will be planted in Heritage
Park after the holidays .
Volunteers from the Committee to wok at the Himes Log House, Dec.
9th are Betty Fuller, Evelyn Himes, Jean Whitener, Bill and Boyce
Byers . Volunteers for the Fuller House will be Helen Payton,
Troy and Ginger Fuller, Dan and Michelle Burger, Vada Johnson,
Weldon Cannon. There will be two shifts of volunteers at both
locations .
Glenda reviewed the activity that will be taking place at the
park area, which includes a Mr. and Mrs . Santa Clause, reindeer,
petting zoo, Santa mailbox, etc. Frito pies, chili and fruit
punch will be sold. Cookies and hot Dr. Pepper will be free.
The Millican Center will primarily be used for restrooms . Houses
will be used for viewing only. No food will be allowed in the
homes .
The Committee will meet on Monday, Nov. 27 at 10 : 00 a.m. at the
Fuller House. Members are asked to bring items to be used to
decorate both houses and finalize the project .
New Business :
Helen Payton invited the Committee to her home for the Dec. 11th
meeting. Address : 402 Oak Lane, Euless, Texas 76040.
Iva Nail suggested that the Committee get a plaque listing the
names of people who make donations for the homes . We could also
consider a plaque for honorary memorials .
Committee members are asked to be on the alert for someone who
can repair the organ in the Fuller House .

The meeting was adjourned at 12 : 15 a.m.
