3 p.m. and Saturday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

4. Rick Herold explained to the Committee the efforts the City is making to welcome the
Committee that is visiting our City to determine who will hold the 2012 Olympics. He would
like everyone to be present at the Texas Star Ballpark, June 20 at 9:35 a.m. The parks and
Community Services Department, the Fire Department, and city staff hope to make the
committee's brief visit here in Euless very inviting.
5. Helen Payton reported that she and Jimmy Peyton had eight visitors at the Open House
Saturday, June 9, including descendants of Eliza Adams Euless.
6. Weldon Cannon reported on his progress on the history and brochure for the Himes Log
Cabin. He plans to have them completed by the September meeting. The cabin will be
measured to assure the proper information in the history.
7. Michelle Burger mentioned that Jimmy Beck removed a dead tree, on the lot near the Himes
Log Cabin. He left the logs there to make it appear as wood being stored for the fireplace.
The ground of the garden is being worked and prepared for seeding.
S. Troy Fuller had the Committee become acquainted with the time and effort that will be
necessary to put all our information on the computer. This will be a monumental task and
Committee members will be devoting considerable time and effort to accomplish our record
keeping.
The Committee took a brief break to enjoy some cake, fruit and tea in recognizing the
wedding anniversary of Iva and Robert Nail. Michelle Burger and a few others organized the
reception and it was very enjoyable for all.
9. Bill Byers brought the meeting to order again and read a letter from Michelle's sister which
Suggested that it may be possible to obtain a grant to cover the cost of a promotional film of
the two houses. Needless to say, the committee was elated and hopes she will pursue this
further.
