meeting. Motion passed.
Old Business
1. Bill Byers reported that information provided by our Treasurer showed a current balance of
$4006.06.
2. Bill Byers commented that the flags, which he recently installed at the homes, were stolen.
Discussion was held regarding the security at the homes. Bill Byers indicated that when the
flags are replaced, they would be installed with cable, which would make it difficult to remove.
Vandalism is a constant threat to the security of the Fuller House and the Himes House.
New Business
1. Helen Payton has had considerable discussions with Action Piano Company regarding the
restoration of the organ at the Fuller House. She also talked with McGrader Piano Repair.
From information obtained, it appeared that the piano was built somewhere between 1878 —
1900. More detailed information would be necessary to get an estimate for repair or
restoration. Depending on the replacement of wood sticks, leather and felt costs could be as
much as $1200 to $1600. Additional information will be submitted with pictures and more
details so that a more accurate evaluation can be provided.
2. On February 26, 2002 the school administration has arranged with the coordination of Betty
Fuller, to permit the third grade students to visit the Fuller House and Himes House. There
will be approximately 100 students. They will start at the Old Bedford School House, have
lunch and then meet at the Ruth Millican Center. Glenda Hartsell suggested that the Chairman

appoint a committee to work on the entertainment at the Center. The plans are for some 25
students to tour the houses at a time while the rest will be entertained by different activities,
such as story telling, making butter, etc. Chairman Byers appointed Michelle Burger and Betty
Fuller to head this committee. They are to determine what activities will be provided at the
Ruth Millican Center.
3. Weldon Cannon visited the Calloway Cemetery last Monday and Tuesday. He reported the
cemetery looks in good condition and well maintained.
4. Weldon Cannon obtained copies of a 1933 Arlington Journal, which related articles of the
original Fuller House.
5. Michelle Burger suggested that the exterior side of the doors to the Fuller House need
cleaning.
6. Glenda Hartsell mentioned that we needed to get with her on the shirt sizes for those that will
be hosting. The shirt will be blue denim and made by"Stitch in Time."
Adjournment
Weldon Cannon, seconded by Don Tharp, made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Motion passed and
the meeting was adjourned at 11:27 a.m.
