Old Business
1. Bill Byers reported that the sidewalk around the Fuller House will be worked on by the
PARKS Department. This would enable better wheelchair access to the house.
2. Iva Nail suggested that curtains and blinds in the Fuller House should be professionally cleaned
by Arbor Daze. Discussion was held on the best way to do this.
Bill Byers reported that the chinking completed at the Himes Log House has been completed.
A suggestion was made by Jean Whitener to have a picture of the house framed.
New Business
1. Michele Burger suggested that "Thank You" notes be sent to those people who assisted on
Education Day, December 12, 2002. Robert Nail also suggested that the cards should include
a thank you from the City of Euless as well. (Thank you notes were sent to: Walter Fisher,
5513 Montclair, Coffeyville, TX 76031, Jay C. Seals, 2711 Dell Court, Grapevine, TX. 76051,
and Kathy Clark, 617 Pecos Dr., Euless, TX 76039).
2. It was suggested that a book of remembrance be made of different people who contributed to
the history of Euless. This book should include pictures with biographies of each person. Dan
Clark volunteered to set-up the format and Weldon Cannon will assist with the information.
3. Weldon Cannon provided information on the history of Euless. Euless was incorporated on
February 21, 1953. Weldon also brought minutes from the Commissioners Court from
1950-1953 and articles from the 1950's. Copies of these items were passed out to everyone.
4. Norma Lively provided information on the history of the First United Methodist Church. The
church was founded in 1876 and a brief history of the church was discussed. The Church is
also working on obtaining a historical Marker.
5. Weldon Cannon brought copies of a history book from Bedford County, Tennessee. He is
giving one copy to the Euless Public Library and another copy to the Bedford Library.
Weldon will also give a speech at TCC on the migration from Tennessee to Euless, Bedford
and Grapevine. In July, Weldon will give the same speech to the Bedford Historical Society in
Tennessee.
6. Irving is celebrating it's centennial. A brief history of the First Baptist Church in Euless and
how the railroad greatly impacted migration to Euless was discussed.
7. Jeff Towne provided six leaner signs announcing the "Open House". Signs are to be displayed
around the City; one (1) in front of the Library, one (1) at Home Depot, one (1) at the Midway
Rec Center, one (1) at Taco Bell, one (1) at Hwy. 10 and Cullum and one (1) at the Post
Office. It was decided that docents should put the signs out on Saturday.
8. Iva Nail suggested that a doorbell for the front and back door of Fuller House might be useful.
Bill Byers will look into purchasing a couple wireless doorbells from Home Depot for the
House.
9. Suzanne Hendrickson mentioned that Lori de La Cruz has made the necessary date
correction to 1953 as requested. Suzanne also stated that the Euless Web Site is being updated
to a new format and the Heritage area will feature the Fuller House and Himes Log House
