Approval of Minutes
The following correction was made to the minutes from the May meeting:
1. Under New Business, item b.; it stated that Mr. Cannon gave a speech on the
Tennessee/Texas connection at a Cannon Reunion last year,it should have said that
Mr. Cannon's speech was given at the Bedford County Historical Society.
Betty Fuller motioned for the minutes to be approved with the correction, Weldon Cannon
seconded the motion,motion approved.
Old Business
1. It was reported that Museum signs could not be found anywhere this past weekend. Mr.
and Mrs.Nail were unable to post signs and tour turn out was very low. It was
mentioned that another set was needed in case one set is left somewhere other than at the
Museum. Suzanne Hendrickson will obtain another set for the committee.
New Business
1. Visitor Kathy Clark with the quitters group requested permission to allow their group to
donate two quilts to be hung in the Fuller House in memory of a recently deceased
member. Mrs. Clark presented samples of the proposed quilts to the committee. The
approximate value for both quilts combined is $2,000. Iva Nail motioned for the
acceptance of this donation. Betty Fuller seconded the motion. Motion was approved.
Suzanne Hendrickson will contact Ms. Clark regarding the committee's decision.
2. Weldon Cannon reported that he recently came across articles in a 1928 Arlington
newspaper with reports on some of the current Historical Preservation Committee
members. Mr. Cannon read a couple of articles to the committee about Iva Nail and Jean
Whitener. He also read an article about 9 year old Troy Fuller having fallen and"burning
his face"which everyone including Mr. Fuller found amusing.
3. Mr. Cannon also mentioned that he came across a book from his collection, which had a
hand written date of 1918 along with a list of names of students at Euless &Tarrant High
School (currently South Euless Elementary). Weldon Cannon read some of the names
listed, which many of the committee members were familiar with.
4. Robert Nail and Betty Fuller reported that the North Texas Regional Library System
(NTRLS)recently honored Mrs. Willie Mae McCormick with the
"Benefactor/Philanthropist Award" for 2004. Committee members wholeheartedly
congratulated Mrs. McCormick for this well deserved honor.
5. Willie Mae Lemons, Iva Nail's cousin, donated a ledger with handwritten notes from her
grandfather's farm dating as early as 1899. Mrs. Lemon's grandfather used to own the
wheel chair currently located in the Museum.
6. Iva Nail donated a set of candlesticks to the Museum.
7. Troy Fuller donated a wooden case containing"credit books"from his father's grocery
store. Quite a few names were read from the "credit books", committee members were
familiar with many of the names listed.
8. Iva Nail reported that Betty Jo and James Fuller's 50th anniversary is coming up soon.
9. Mrs.Nail also mentioned that Troy Fuller would be having major back surgery on June
30t.

and/or"denial". Hard copies of these form letters will be given to the committee
to keep on file.
11. Billy Byers reported that he met with Gary McKamie and Ray McDonald regarding
hiring an employee to work with the committee one Saturday a month. This way,
committee members will work one Saturday of the month and the employee will work a
second Saturday of the month. The Museum could then be open two Saturdays every
month. Mr. Byers mentioned that this line item would be included in the budget for next
year.
12. The Historical Preservation Committee will not meet in July or August.
