Minutes
October 11, 2004
Call to Order
Chair, Billy Byers called the meeting to order at 10:02 a.m.

Treasures Report
Treasurer Robert Nail reported a balance of$11,265.88.
Approval of Minutes
Helen Payton motioned for the minutes to be approved. Betty Fuller seconded the motion,
motion approved.
Old Business
1. Michele Burger reported that four people toured the Museum on October 9.
2. Billy Byers reported that both the Texas and US flags have been replaced. He also
mentioned that six people visited in September.
3. Committee members discussed the removal of all Plexi-glass that surrounds the outside
of all windows at Fuller House. After a brief discussion of whether it would be a good
idea to remove them or not, committee members were agreeable that since there's a fence
around the property, it would be appropriate to replace the Plexi-glass with screens as this
was what would have been used in the 1930's.

4. Suzanne Hendrickson informed the Committee that inquiries have been made regarding
the door in the back bedroom of the Fuller House. Kyle McAdams has found a door with
the correct measurements of 7'. Billy Byers mentioned that he will get with Kyle
McAdams regarding the door.
New Business
1. Betty Fuller reported that Willie Mae McCormick is currently recovering from several
bee stings she received. Committee members expressed regret at this unfortunate
occurrence.
2. Betty Fuller reported that four Elementary Schools will be touring the Museum in
the next couple of months. Suzanne Hendrickson will have staff support available to help
the committee. Names of these four schools and their visiting date are as follow:
a. Donna Park Elementary, October 14, 2004—approximately 60 students.
b. Midway Elementary, October 26, 2004—approximately 75 students.
c. South Euless Elementary, November 2, 2004—approximately 88 students.
d. Bellaire Elementary, November 30, 2004—approximately 79 students.
3. Billy Byers along with Harvey Little will have the tomato planter delivered to Heritage
Park some time this week.
4. It was mentioned that donations for the historical marker for the First United
Methodist Church of Euless is coming along well.
5. Iva Nail reported that Troy Fuller is doing well, however, he is not allowed to drive until
the beginning of the year.
6. Suzanne Hendrickson reported on the following:
a. Passed out pictures of the old Western Hills Inn for committee members to view.
b. Reported that plaques for the Fig and Magnolia trees have been ordered.
c. The software for the Museum's inventory is still being worked on.
d. Mentioned that a story board could be done up of McCormick Park which would
be posted at the park once it's completed. Another copy could be kept at the
Museum.
e. The Halloween Carnival will be on October 30, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Midway
Recreation Center.
f. Kidfish will be on November 13.
g. Reported that Merry Maids cleaned Fuller House and did a good job.
h. Reported that Mr. and Mrs. Nail removed all the curtains, took them home,
washed them and hung them back up.
7. Robert Nail reported that some of the locks on the gate are very difficult to open.
Suzanne Hendrickson will check on this.
8. Weldon Cannon thanked Ofa"Mary" for the translation she gave him of the plaque
located at the Free Church of Tonga.

9. It was questioned whether there were any known photos of the house that used to be on
the Free Church of Tonga property. It was unknown if any photos of the house exists.
10. Council Member Linda Martin expressed her appreciation for the committee's success in
preserving the history of Euless.

Chair, Billy Byers adjourned the meeting at 11:56 a.m.
