made. Betty Fuller, Helen Payton and Bill Byers volunteered to work.
5. Members were given the opportunity to comment on the Heritage Park Christmas event:
a. Weldon Cannon encouraged the Committee to take every opportunity to bring
awareness to people of the availability of Heritage Park and of the history of the
area. He had such an opportunity during Heritage Park Christmas and was
appreciative of it.
b. Iva Nail noted that children enjoyed the food and the animals. She also encouraged
inviting more school aged groups to perform as this draws parents and grandparents
to the event.
c. Boyce Byers indicated the need for more portable restrooms.
d. Michele Burger felt the snow man was a big hit.
e. It seemed to Mrs. Fuller that children really enjoyed scratching the Christmas
ornaments.
f. Helen Gleghorn thought the Blacksmith was a hit.
g. Mr. Nail expressed his appreciation to Michael Davenport for a successful event.
h. Beth Gathings acknowledged that perhaps the message about the availability of
Heritage Park is getting out. She mentioned that while giving tours in the Fuller
House, one child said, "I've been here before, I know what that is in there." The
same child later said, "This place is history."
i. Mrs. Fuller noted that she heard James Gathings asking many children if they knew
what a windmill was. Most answered no, this brought up the fact that a lot of
education still need to be provided to the younger generation.
j. Mr. Byers was demonstrating the corn grinder and a young lady said, they had a
corn grinder they used back home. The young lady was from Bangladesh.
STATUS OF CURRENT PROJECTS
1. Euless Library History Wall: Mr. Cannon was asked to give a brief history of the Trigg
family, one of the founding families of Euless. Mr. Cannon reported that Mary Ann Trigg
was an unmarried and wealthy business woman who moved to Euless around 1867. She
owned hundreds of acres of land here in Euless. Elijah Adam Euless married one of her
daughters who was older than himself Mr. Euless acquired much of the property he owned
through this union. It was mentioned that there aren't any known Trigg descendants in the
EHPC Mtg. 121007
area. This brought up the idea that the Committee could donate their spare change at each
monthly meeting for the next six months to help fund a tile to honor the Trigg family's
contribution to Euless. Mr. Nail would be in charge of the monthly donations. The tile
would cost approximately six hundred dollars which will be paid for out of the
Committee's treasury fund.
2. Calloway Cemetery: Bill Byers reported that Robbie with the Boy Scouts of America has
been working at the cemetery. He recruited about twenty eight other people to help in the
clean up process. Mr. Byers also took home Mary Ann Trigg's tombstone to restore and he
has completed the project.
3. Windmill Project: Mr. Byers indicated that the project is on hold at present due to ongoing
conflict between the heirs of the estate where the windmill is located. The property once
belonged to Dr. Rhodes where he resided around 1903 or 1904. Mr. Byers has concerns
about the legality of obtaining the windmill at this time so he has decided to put the project
on hold until further notice.
4. Photo Scanning Project: Dan Clark reported that a meeting is scheduled for Wednesday,
December 12,between himself, Ofa"Mary", Don Martin, Gary Fieldsend and Kate Lyon
to discuss cataloging techniques for the project.
5. Photography Committee: Dan Clark additionally reported that photos are being taken of
historical locations around the city. He further asked the Committee for old photographs of
the area for the project. Photos will be scanned and returned within seven business days.
6. City Website: Staff emailed the final draft of Tubby Huffman's transcribed interview
along with three photos to Mr. Clark. Mr. Clark needs to wrap up a couple of things with
David Massey but he expects it to be ready for online posting within a week.
7. Volunteer Recruitment: Staff has not received any responses to the ad in the current issue
of Euless Today.
8. Docent Packet: Packets for new members are available at the Fuller House.

HIMES LOG HOUSE UPDATE
1. Mrs. Fuller discussed the fact that weasels are rare and hard to find. She expressed her
concern about the spindle in the Log House and the need to take care of it when children
are present. Staff will make up two "Do Not Touch" signs for the Committee. Other
suggestions were to rope off the area so visitors may not go near it.
FULLER HOUSE UPDATE
1. Norma Lively asked that name plates with descriptions be place with each photo in the
Fuller House. She indicated that this would be helpful when visitors inquire about the
photographs.
EHPC Mtg. 121007
2. It was also reported that the commode doesn't flush properly and the water was shut off at
the tank. Staff will turn in a work order to have the problem fixed.
3. Susan Crim was at the Fuller House and indicated her desire for a nice photograph of
Willie Mae McCormick to go in the display chart. Ms. Crim volunteered to provide a
photograph of Mrs. McCormick for the Museum.
4. Beth Gathings asked if a photo of Mr. and Mrs. Homer Fuller could be placed in the house.
This would be interesting for visitors to see who owned the home. Mr. and Mrs. Nail will
provide a photograph for the Museum.
CHAIRMAN'S REPORT
1. On behalf of the Committee, Mrs. Fuller sincerely thanked Mr. and Mrs. Payton for the use
of their home for the annual Christmas meeting and luncheon.
2. Reported that Jack Draper contacted the City for 1800's photos of area businesses for a
project he is working on for a new business called Golden Chic off of Trinity Boulevard.
As there are no known photographs of Euless businesses from the 1800's, Mrs. Fuller
could not help the gentleman.

The afghan can be purchased for $50 and it's available at Stitch-n-Tyme among other
places.
