Chairman Mike McGehee called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

DISPOSITION OF THE MINUTES:
The Chairman asked for a motion to be made to accept the September 6, 2007 minutes. Barney Snitz made the motion to
accept the minutes, and Adriane Weinstein seconded the motion.
REPORT FROM THE LIBRARY ADMINISTRATOR:
Kate presented the September monthly statistics. Our numbers continue to show increases in Circulation and database
usage.
New Employees: Donna Gooch, Librarian Adult Reference
Kathleen Siek, Part-time Librarian Assistant Youth Services
Leta Jones, Part-time Librarian Assistant Youth Services
September was Library Card Sign-Up Month and our theme was"Get in the Game...READ!" We had a drawing for two
DVD's,a football jersey donated from Trinity High School,a football jersey donated by Colleyville Heritage High School
along with several fun promotional items to give away each day.
Martin Rivera was scheduled to be here September 29th for a bilingual story time program,but due to surgery was not able
to come as planned. Kate was able to book another bilingual storyteller, Consuelo Samarripa, for the event, and she also
visited Oakwood Terrace and had 90 students and parents in attendance for her program there.
We had 25 (24 girls and 1 boy)attend the Eclipse Event in the Teen Room. The teens had a wonderful discussion on the
books, made buttons, won autograph copies of Twilight and Eclipse, each were given M&M's personalized with"I Love
Edward"and"I Love Jacob", and the staff put out snacks and juice for everyone to enjoy.
Teen Read Week is October 14-20th and the Youth staff has planned Movie Day,Tattoo Tuesday, Concrete Poetry,and
Manga Maniacs Meet up.
Our Board Member, Lucinda Hoffman-Garcia has resigned from the board. Board decisions will be announced next
week.
The City Council approved$229,840 in Materials Budget this year for the library.
We have been notified that Rosetta Stone is dropping service to libraries in April 2008. This has been very popular and
we hope to be able to find a replacement.
Kate asked the board for suggestions or ideas on spending the Loan Star money.
Kate Lyon and Barney Snitz will be attending the NTRLS Meeting in Hurst on October 25`h.
The Friends of the Library Fall Book Sale was September 21-23 they reported making $2200.00.

DISCUSSIONS:
Barney reminded everyone that Betty Fuller and Weldon Cannon was on Channel 8, Good Morning Texas talking about
Tarrant County history. Barney also commented on the new fish in the aquarium,but thought it would be nice to be able
to identify the name and type of fish. Could we make the information available?

The Chairman asked for a motion to adjourn. The motion was made by Betty Fuller and seconded by LuAnn Portugal.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:25 p.m.
