Parks and Leisure Services Board
January 6, 2020
CALL TO ORDER
The regular meeting of the Parks and Leisure Services Board was called to order at 6:59 p.m. on
Monday, January 6, 2020 in the Council Chambers of the Euless City Hall building by Chairman
Randy Jones. Other Board Members present: John Raab, Steve Doty, Jason Reyes, Magen Brown,
Kay Seger and Isha Sharma. Members absent: Roger Sickler
Staff members present: Director of Parks and Community Services Ray McDonald, Parks Manager
Terry Boaz, Recreation Manager Elizabeth Johnson and Administrative Secretary Myndi Muncy.
Visitors present:
INVOCATION
Randy Jones gave the invocation.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Chairman Randy Jones asked if there were any additions or corrections to the minutes from the
December 2, 2019 regular meeting. Mr. Doty made the motion to approve the minutes as
presented and was seconded by Mr. Raab. The vote was unanimous.
I. Election of Officers
Chairman Jones advised that the current Park Board Officers are: Chairman — Randy Jones,
Vice Chairman —John Raab and Secretary—Steve Doty.
The current Tree Board Officers are: Chairman — Jason Reyes and Vice Chairman — Roger
Sickler.
Chairman Jones stated that each officer will be elected by nomination and then vote of the
Park Board. He opened the floor for nominations.
Steve Doty made a motion to nominate Randy Jones for Chairman of the Park Board. The
motion was seconded by John Raab. With no other nominations the vote to approve was
unanimous.

Randy Jones made a motion to nominate John Raab for Vice Chairman of the Park Board.
The motion was seconded by Jason Reyes. With no other nominations the vote to approve
was unanimous.
Randy Jones made a motion to nominate Steve Doty for Secretary of the Park Board. The
motion was seconded by Jason Reyes. With no other nominations the vote to approve was
unanimous.
Magen Brown made a motion to nominate Jason Reyes for Chairman of Tree Board. The
motion was seconded by Steve Doty. With no other nominations the vote to approve was
unanimous.
Steve Doty made a motion to nominate Magen Brown for Vice Chairman of Tree Board.
The motion was seconded by Randy Jones. With no other nominations the vote to approve
was unanimous.
The new 2020 Park Board officers are: Chairman — Randy Jones, Vice Chairman — John
Raab and Secretary—Steve Doty.
The new 2019 Tree Board officers are: Chairman — Jason Reyes and Vice Chairman —
Magen Brown.

b. Kay Seger—Bob Eden &Trailwood: Low hanging branches at Trailwood.

III. Business of the Tree Board
Tree Board Chairman Jason Reyes reported the following for December:
a. Total man hours for December 1-31 = 1336
• 582.00 Horticulture
• 250.00 Forestry
• 42.00 Greenhouse
• 383.00 Special Projects
• 79.00 Training
We have started to sow acorns for the Arbor Daze Festival, We currently have
500 acorns with roots.
➢ We also placed the Log Cabin Christmas tree in the Log Cabin.
We have trimmed at Midway Park, Villages of Bear Creek Park
and Heritage Park.
IV. Directors Report—Ray McDonald
• Parks project updates/completions.
• Natatorium and Fitness Center floor completions.
• Wrigley fence completion.
• Softball World renovation update.
Chairman Randy Jones thanked the staff for their report.

VI. Input from City Council Members and Visitors
ADJOURNMENT
Chairman Jones gave the benediction. There being no further business to conduct, the meeting
was adjourned at 7:25 p.m.
