Chairman Mike McGehee called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

DISPOSITION OF THE MINUTES:
The Chairman asked for a motion to be made to accept the May minutes. Barney Snitz made the motion to accept the minutes with
corrections,and Adriane Weinstein second the motion.
REPORT FROM THE LIBRARY ADMINISTRATOR:,
Kate Lyon reports that Circulation stats are up for the month,Databases stats are up with Ebsco showing double from last month,and
the testing/education is down due to access problems.
Kate reports that Kathy Grove has not sent an official letter or notification of her resignation. We will send a letter to Kathy to remind
her that we need a letter of resignation before we can officially vote in a replacement. If we do not receive notification from her the
Mayor advised that the position will be handled in September with other board positions to be filled.
The Summer Reading Club is off to a great start with over 300 signed up on the first day. Critterman was the first program and we
had a huge crowd, and the Ringling Brothers Circus Clowns will be at the Library Meeting Room on June 3.
The 10 year Birthday celebration will start on July 11, 2006. We plan events for each day for 10 days with the finale on July 21 at
6:30 with a VIP Reception. We will have Fine Free Days starting July 11. For every can of food you donate$1.00 will be marked
off your account. The food will be donated to NEED(North East Emergency Distribution). On July 13 Stan Blazyk,a weather
historian from Galveston,will present"A Century of Galveston Weather"at 7pm in the Meeting Room. Following his presentation
we will continue with the book discussion on"Isaac Storm." On July 17 we will have a Euless based dance group, Halau Ho'ola Ka
Mana 0 Hawai'i,perform at 7pm in the Library Meeting Room.
Two of our part-time Library employees,Meg Adaya and Collin Grabeel graduated from TCCC.
DISCUSSIONS:
Mike McGehee reported that Kola Latu,who visited with us at the May Board Meeting does not live in Euless and will not be eligible
to apply as a board member. She has offered to assist us in finding someone from the Tongan population who is interested in serving
on the board.
Mike McGehee reports that the ELF art project is on hold for now. They are still very interested in looking into the Book Mobile
project.
Barney would like to have some information on our staff positions and their job responsibilities. He was also very complimentary to
Paula Myers for the great service she gave to one of his neighbors.
LuAnn Portugal reports that her son has returned from Iraq. She went to North Carolina to be there when his ship arrived.
Adriane Weinstein reports that she will be leaving for the Mayo Clinic in Arizona for surgery. She will return in July.
It was decided that we will not have a meeting in July. The next scheduled Board Meeting will be Thursday,August 3 at 7pm.
