Chairman Mike McGehee called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

DISPOSITION OF THE MINUTES:
The Chairman asked for a motion to be made to accept the August minutes. Kate Lyon made the motion to accept
the minutes,and Adriane Weinstein seconded the motion.
REPORT FROM THE LIBRARY ADMINISTRATOR:

Dedication of"Blooms of Enlightenment"on August 12,2005 was a spectacular event. The Friday night reception
attendance was over 160. The Open House was a big success with over 180 in attendance for Saturday,August 13
and Sunday, August 14.
David Keens,the artist,attended all three events. On Saturday and Sunday for the Open House we had Debbie Day
set up to do face painting for the children,Cindy Horstman played the Harp for two hours each day,and
refreshments and snacks were served.
New Library Staff: Susan Neal,Senior Librarian Reference Services Coordinator; Peggy Smith,Part-Time
Librarian Assistant;Pam McDonald,Part-Time Library Aide; and Sylvia Paul,Part-Time Library Aide.
Library Staff collected money, on their own,to pay for 22 rooms for the Hurricane Katrina evacuees staying at
Hotel 6.
JoAnn handed out the Long Range Plans for the Library. Discussion followed with Library Board input.

The City Council has approved most everything we requested in the 2006 Budget.
Library looking into offering programs and more assistance to the Home Schoolers

The Chairman asked for a motion to adjourn. The motion was made by Kate Lyon and seconded by Betty Fuller.
