Chairman Mike McGehee called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

DISPOSITION OF THE MINUTES:
The Chairman asked for a motion to be made to accept the July minutes. Barney Snitz made the motion to accept
the minutes,and Marcia Brown seconded the motion.
REPORT FROM THE LIBRARY ADMINISTRATOR:
July Statistics: Visits to the Library– 17,911
Items Checked Out–38,529
Program Attendance– 1848
Statistics for July are up. We are seeing lots of new faces in the library.
Euless Today has a wonderful article on"Blooms of Enlightenment." The dedication and reception is scheduled for
August 12,2005. Contact Karan at 817-685-1679 to RSVP for the event.
The library hosted"Potterpalooza"on Friday,July 15th from 9pm to midnight. It was a huge success thanks to all of
the hard work that Chris and Louise McAllister,JoAnn,and Beverly McCalmont did to make the evening fun for
everyone. The attendance was wonderful with over 50 children and 27 parents.
Danene Hudson created the Teacher Resource List that has a list of book titles for the school year and databases for
reference information for the teachers. In September we plan to take to each school a basket of apples and a copy of
the list.
Beverly McCalmont applied and received the"Freedom Bookshelf Award." The books will be placed at the Twin
Bridge Mini Library.
Danene Hudson and Beverly McCalmont and working with the children at Twin Bridge to wrap up Summer
Reading Club activities. We have purchased t-shirts from Old Navy, Spanish,and Spanish/English books with the
money that was donated in Glen Lipscomb's memory.
Budget looks good for the Library. The Budget Retreat is scheduled for the weekend of August 6,2005. We will
know more after the retreat.
We have decided to not be a part of the Answer Zone effective the end of the contract year,September 30,2005. It
will still be available but the library will not continue to be an active member.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

3. IB students for after school homework assistance—Marcia to check at Trinity High School
4. Mike McGehee and Betty Fuller terms end December 31,2005

The Chairman asked for a motion to adjourn. The motion was made by LuAnn Portugal and seconded by Adriane
Weinstein. The meeting was adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
