Chairman Mike McGehee called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m.

DISPOSITION OF THE MINUTES:
The Chairman asked for a motion to be made to accept the November minutes. Barney Snitz made the motion to
accept the minutes,and LuAnn Portugal seconded the motion.
REPORT FROM THE LIBRARY ADMINISTRATOR:
JoAnn passed out the Statistics Report for the month of November:
Statistics: Library visits: 18, 020
Items Checked Out: 34,543
Program Attendance: 667
Danene Hudson and Linda Evers represented the Library at the Halloween event at Midway Recreation.
JoAnn reports the City will be collecting new unwrapped toys again this year for the Toys 4 Tots campaign. All
toys will be picked up by the Marines at the City Christmas Luncheon on December 10.
Suzanne Hendrickson is in charge of putting volunteers together to Greet the Troops at DFW. If interested let
Karan know and she will get the information to Suzanne. They also need snacks and water donations to make up
bags to hand out.
TLA: The Library will pay for the board membership to TLA. Bring your applications to Karan.
Pat Summerall Video: There has been some talk about the production of this film. The City was pleased with the
production of the video. It is too bad that the company is under scrutiny but we are still using the video to promote
Euless.
Youth Department: Children's Book Week was celebrated this year with the help of Linda Evers putting together a
beautiful quilt. The children and staff contributed by tracing book covers on squares and coloring the squares of
their favorite children book. The Youth Librarians also had an after-hours Scavenger Hunt for the teens and a
Polar Express Pajama Party.
Sherry Knight is attending Chamber Leadership Conferences on Thursday evenings. Sherry completed the Director
Library Orientation with Joe Hennig and the other city directors. She received positive feedback from everyone on
the opportunity to see what was available on-line at the Library.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
1. All westerns have been moved into fiction with new labels that make them very visible. A list is available
in Reference of the western fiction writers.
2. Collection Agency Analysis report is attached
3. Repair of the drainage on the east side of the building scheduled to start in January.
NEW BUSINESS:
1. LuAnn Portugal wanted to compliment the staff at the Reference Desk. They are always so positive and
excited when you ask them for assistance.
2. The Board complimented the building with the new Christmas lights.
- 3. Marcia Brown said she is encouraging the Trinity High School students to come here if they are unable to
get the information they need at the school.
4. Barney was impressed with Briana Lynch, Youth Volunteer of the Year,at the Boards and Commission's
Dinner. He said it was such a nice touch for the Library to give her flowers.

The Chairman asked for a motion to adjourn. The motion was made by Marcia Brown and seconded by Barney
Snitz. The meeting was adjourned at 7:58 p.m.
