JoAnn Rogers reported that the numbers for the Library continue to increase. We are meeting in the Teen Program
Room to show off the new furniture that was purchased with the Lone Star Grant money. Starting October 1,2003
each city department will be watering and taking care of the plants in their building. Library has started a Plant
Maintenance Committee to take care of our plants. Carolyn Hoots will be recognized on October 28th for her 25
Years of Service in the Library. JoAnn,Karan and Barney Snitz represented the Library at the Senior Citizens Fair
at First Baptist Church on Saturday, September 27t. September is the last month of the fiscal year. JoAnn is
studying the cost of processing the various formats of materials. All grant reports have been turned in for Lone Star
and Twin Bridge Mini Library.
We have eliminated the use of the phone after school except for emergencies. This should help control the noise
level of children gathering at the Circ desk every day. We have also eliminated the snack machine in the lobby.
This should help control the trash that is left on the Library grounds. We have a Police Officer in the building often
to assist in the control of the after school crowds.
Sherry Knight went to Syracuse for training on the Polaris upgrade. She has been appointed to the Polaris User's
Group Steering Committee. We are having a consultant come this month to review our security issues. Training on
the upgrade of Polaris before the end of the month.
JoAnn,Betty Fuller, and Barney Snitz attended the District Systems Meeting in Olney.
