Additional Comments from JoAnn Rogers:
The "Euless Public Library Newsletter"and handouts were distributed regarding upcoming events
at the Library such as a Masterworks presentation of The Fort Worth Classical Guitar Society, a
Suzuki Strings Concert, and a Mother/Daughter Formal Afternoon Tea Party along with Tea Time
Books. For more information, please refer to the Newsletter.
Copies of the Library's new Organization Chart were also distributed. JoAnn has moved people
around to new positions which has invigorated everyone. Sherry Moeller, the Technical Services
Coordinator, Librarian III, also talked about how the changes in her group have brought tons of
enthusiasm to the Staff as well as ideas.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
Debbie Kunze and Jane Aronhalt updated the Board on the progress the Mid-Cities Genealogical
Society has made with the Genealogy Collection thanks to the hard work of volunteers working
hundreds of hours. Once the M.C.G.S. organized the collection, it was easy for them to see where
the gaps in the collection are. The Friends of the Euless Library is donating $500.00 which will
be matched by the M.C.G.S. to purchase books on how to get started on genealogy. Reference
books and books for circulation will be their primary focus in updating the collection. The
Society had a fund raiser last week and will have another one in the fall. They are also
considering having a Lock-In this summer where the M.C.G.S. would have access to the Library's
collection and computers after hours. In addition to all of the above, the M.C.G.S. is considering
having a workshop to train the Librarians in genealogy.
The L.S.T.A. Grant to provide Library services in South Euless to un-served citizens there is still
in the running as additional information was recently requested.
NEW AND MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS:
It was suggested the Library Staff wear name tags with first names on them.
Alex Horton has the list of the Library Foundation's Arbor Daze Volunteers if anyone wants to
sign up. In the Cooking Tent, the Chefs will be on for an hour and a half at a time, and the
Foundation will be selling their cookbooks(if they have one to sell). Since the Chefs will not be
giving out samples, it was suggested the food be raffled off.
ADJOURNMENT:
The Chairman asked for a motion to adjourn. The motion was made to adjourn by Marcia Brown
and seconded by Alex Horton. The meeting was adjourned at 8:13 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,,
