On April 28, Wesley Scott met with the Chairpersons of all the boards and committees in Euless with the City Council and City Manager for their semi-annual meeting. They were given an update of all that is being accomplished in our city. Tom Hart invited our Library Board to tour the new golf course on the 8th or 15th of May at 6:15 p.m. The Texas Star Golf course opens to the public May 22. Three staff members from the North Richland Hills Library came for two days and examined our new facility. They were impressed and looked for ideas to implement in their library. (3) Arbor Daze: There is an "Arbor Daze Evaluation Meeting" scheduled for May 8. Sheila recorded all of our suggestions that we passed on to her from citizens and booth people. These will be presented in the meeting. NEW AND MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS: Jeanne Green is a new Staff member working in Youth Services. We are delighted to have Jeanne. The library staff wants to do an in-library survey to determine what our users want and need. It would assist in collection development for new materials. Elizabeth Draper made the initial survey sheet. We discussed this to great length and added some of our ideas, including several facets of what we offer to the public. This survey sheet is not finalized yet, or how we will implement it in the library. We will need volunteers to do the survey. Betty Fuller suggested we look for a change machine for our copier. In the future, if we acquire a second copier, it would alleviate staff having to give this service to the public. The local school libraries will be working with us through the summer to provide people for our Storytelling Hour. This will be a great help for our staff and volunteers. We discussed the leaks in the library roof. Two of them have been fixed, and the contractors are coming back when we have the next heavy rain to inspect the roof and the interior where we have had problems. We are still under warranty. This month (May) a "walk through" is scheduled to look for needed repairs. The board is very concerned about this issue. We are passing this information on to Tom Cox. CITIZEN INPUT: There was no citizen input this month. There being no further business, Chairperson Wesley Scott adjourned the meeting at 8:45 p.m. Respectfully submitted, ,‘/e- A.
