NEW AND MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS:
The Library Board discussed the fact that it was not necessary to try to attend the
City Council's pre-meeting, but that it would be much more useful to attend the
7:00 meeting. The dirty vents in the ceiling of the Library were also mentioned.
Betty Yarbrough explained that the engineers are aware of the problem, but as
of this time, Betty was not sure of their response.
CITIZEN INPUT:
Alice Ernest asked several questions of the Library Board on behalf of a friend of
hers. The question was raised concerning whether books can be renewed via the
telephone. It is not currently the Euless Library policy to do so for the following
reasons: It is much more difficult to make corrections regarding one's library card
when one is not present. The entire process would be much more staff intr
and physically seeing the material helps greatly in controlling damage to the materials.
(3)
It was pointed out that Irving does not charge a fine for overdue materials, but all
present agreed that was not to be a direction explored. Fines collected by the
Euless Library go into the City's General Fund and do not go directly to the Library.
There being no further business, Chairperson Wesley Scott adjourned the meeting
at 8:00 p.m.
Respectfull submitted,
LryMcGeath
Acting Euless Library Board Secretary
