Chairperson Wesley Scott called the Euless Library Board meeting to order, at 7:05 p.m..
MEMBERS PRESENT: STAFF PRESENT:

DISPOSITION OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING:
Minutes of the March 07, 1996 meeting were received and approved as corrected. Correct spelling of
Meredith McMannis on two occasions, and under MISCELLANEOUS third sentence should end
"multicultural figures."There will be no Minutes from April due to lack of a quorum.
REPORT OF LIBRARY DIRECTOR:
Mrs.Yarbrough reported the April 1996 circulation information. There were a total of 231 registrations, of
which 35 were out of the city, and 1 out of the county. 15 Interlibrary loans were requested of which 10
items were received. 85 total visits to the Genealogy room,which included 51 Euless residents. Walk in
traffic 4,013, and In-house use of materials 3,322. 14 Volunteers contributed 71.25 hours. There were 15
Storytime sessions attended by 213 children and 28 adults. There were three special programs including,the
Night of 1,000 Stars,the Reading Circle, and Storytime at Oakwood Terrace Apartments--in total these
programs were attended by 117 children and 24 adults.
Meetings Attended:
1. Lets Talk about Books.
2. Meeting discussing House Bill 2128 dealing with deregulation of communication agencies for linkups
with other agencies,primary consideration --interne communication.
3. Library Foundation.
4. Friends of the Library--October is next semi-annual meeting,Book sale in October as well.
5.Night of 1000 Stars.
6.NTRLS-- System meeting&Executive Directors Board Meeting, attended with Alice Ernest.
7. Arbor Daze.
8. TLA conference, Houston
Other :
1. June Library Board Meeting to be held in old Library Building
2. July Library Board Meeting (July 4th)will be canceled.
3. New staff-- Scott Thomson,Librarian II,generalist.
MISCELLANEOUS:
Library foundation made about$2,000 from the Dr.Pepper booth at Arbor Daze. Cookbooks were sold at
the Library and Arbor Daze and up to this point have not paid for themselves. The Bid for the new Libraries
Security System goes to the City Council Tuesday to make sure it goes through. New Library hours were
detailed by Betty Yarbrough, and they are as follows: Mon., Tues., Thurs, 10a.m. to 9p.m.,Weds. 10a.m. to
6p.m.. , Fri. & Sat. 10 a.m.to 5 p.m. , and Sunday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m..
NEW BUSINESS:
A careful review of a draft concerning Meeting Room Policy was our next order of business. Since it was
a working draft we worked through changes in the original draft that were kept by Betty Yarbrough with
the understanding that our review would further develop the draft. A motion was made and accepted that
the draft of Meeting Room Policies as completed by Betty Yarbrough be submitted to the Euless City
Council for approval.
There being no more business, Chairperson Wesley Scott adjourned the meeting at 9:20 p.m..
