EULESS LIBRARY BOARD
JUNE 01, 1995
Wesley Scott, Chairperson, called the Euless Library Board to order at 7:10p.m..

DISPOSITION OF MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS
MEETING
With the exception of the incorrect spelling of"groundbreaking",and the use of
"libraries", instead of"library's" the Board approved the minutes of the May 04,
1995 Euless Library Board Meeting as written.
REPORT OF THE LIBRARIAN
Mrs. Yarbrough reported the May 1995 circulation information, induding 239
registrations, 70 Interlibrary loan requests( of which 50 were received),2,018
videocassettes checked out, 96 reserves checked out,3,464 usages by walk in traffic,
and 3,428 in house use of materials. 344 children and 39 adults attended 18
Storytime sessions. Circulation was down 7.3% from 1994. It was noted that 50% of
circulation was in children's materials. A tour for the Boy Scouts on how to use the
catalog brought in 51 children and 8 adults. Midway Madness had its summer
kickoff in which 196 children and 21 adults attended.
Mrs. Yarbrough reported attending the following meetings in May:
1. Lets Talk About Books( Romance writer from San Antonio).
2. Pre-construction meeting with contractor.
3.PLANT- in Rockwall.
4. Arbor Daze Comm. evaluation meeting.
Miscellaneous
1. Registration at Schools- need many volunteers.
2. Building contractor on site next week.
3.Will there be a July meeting?
4. Sheila Williams will be giving a demo on new Hardware/Software by December.
5. Meredith McMannis will be conducting Elementary School visits.
6. New staff member just started, and his name is Fred Kamman
7. Sheila- is now on the City Automation Comm.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Continued discussion of Goal and Objective setting.August meeting on Goals and
Objectives will be set, but no specifics yet. Wesley and Kerry to create a committee
to review Goals and Objectives.
NEW LIBRARY
Discussion centered around whether a video camera should be placed on site to
capture information on construction as it happens. (watch to make sure it is done
properly).
NEW AND MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS
It has been decided that we will not meet next month,July 06.
Councilman Miller thought the idea of registering children at school opening was a
great idea, and he offered the idea that Bear Creek Elementary be induded.
There being no further business,the Chairperson,Wesley Scott adjourned the
meeting at 7:45p.m..
