MINUTES City of Euless
EULESS LIBRARY BOARD
October 6, 1994
Betty Fuller,Vice Chairperson, called the Euless Library Board to order at 7:04 p. m. in the
Euless Public Library.

DISPOSITION OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING
The Board approved the minutes of the September 1, 1994 Euless Library Board meeting as
written.
REPORT OF THE LIBRARIAN
Mrs. Yarbrough reported the September 1994 circulation information. See the attached documents
for exact figures. Mrs. Yarbrough also reported that the goal to increase registration for Euless to
40%has been obtained. Actually, 50% of the Euless citizens are registered library borrowers..
Mrs. Yarbrough reported attending the following meetings she attended in September:
1. Staff met with Architect.
2. PLANT
3. 2 Library Building Committee
4. 1 City Council
5. Index automation system demo with Sheila at Lewisville.
6. NTRLS- Haltom City with Sheila.
7. Fund Raising Workshop
Miscellaneous
Out reach Program
1.Planning for book discussion group at North Euless Elementary, 6th grade.
2. Planning special evening storytime by Oakwood Terrace School Librarian and teachers at an
apartment complex for pre-schoolers and school age children. If successful,may repeat in spring.
3. Book talk at Euless Junior High for Tammy Giles' reading classes. Perhaps work in conjunction
with North Euless book discussion group.
4. Children services included 21 storytime sessions, 251 children and 39 adults attended. Also, 8
special programs and tours involved 125 children and 17 adults.

NEW LIBRARY
The Board reviewed the current Floor Plan and the Site Plan for the new library. The Board
discussed the Plans and gave some of their ideas to the Librarian. Rick Herald stated that the
Mayor is requesting the Library Board to plan the ground breaking ceremony.
FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY REPORT
Elaine presented a report summarizing the value of gifts made to the Euless Public Library,by the
Friends of the Library over the past 20 years. Ms. Wheeler invited the members of the Library
Board to their"Volunteer Appreciation Picnic", Saturday, 22, 1994.
There being no further business, the acting Chairperson, Betty Fuller adjourned the meeting at 7:43
