UNFINISHED BUSINESS
The Euless City Council will approve the revised by-laws of the
Euless Library Board in the near future. The Euless City Council has
been extremely busy.
The Board continued discussions about the new library. Mrs.
Yarbrough reported that the Architect Selection Committee received
21 responses! Councilman Boatright and others are currently reading
the responses. The decision process may require additional time
because of the quality and the quantity of responses.
FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY REPORT
Elaine Turner, President of the Friends of the Euless Public Library,
reported the Book Cottage is getting ready for the big Arbor Daze
Sale. Elaine said that she ordered a CD-ROM disk for genealogy for
$69.00. Mrs. Turner said, in reference to the information contained
on the genealogy CD-ROM disk, "If the Euless Library bought the
paper volume it would cost over $500.00!" She also bought a CD-
ROM disk with the street atlas of every city in the United States, for
$89.00.
DISASTER PREPAREDNESS AND RECOVERY VIDEO
The Board viewed a video that showed the appropriate responses to
disasters with libraries and office records. The video was
informative. The discussion that following suggested that we should
take steps to prepare since the recovery process was so much harder
if you had not taken any steps toward disaster preparedness.
There being no further discussion, Chairman Alice Ernest adjourned
the meeting at 8:25 p. m.
