EULESS LIBRARY BOARD
November 11, 1993
Alice Ernest, Chairman, called the Euless Library Board to order at
• 7:00 p. m. in the Euless Public Library.

DISPOSITION OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING
The Board approved the minutes of the September 2,1993 Euless
Library Board meeting as written subject to the following correction.
I misspelled Joyce Yamamoto's last name. The correct spelling is
with two a's and two o's.
REPORT OF LIBRARIAN
Mrs. Yarbrough reported the September and October 1993
circulation information. See the attached documents for exact
figures. The report shows that circulation increased by 2.5% in
September, and circulation also increased by 6% in October. Mrs.
Yarbourgh also reported higher then normal registration activity in
October!
Mrs. Yarbrough reported the following meetings or activities in
September.
1. PLANT meeting in De Soto.
2. Let's Talk About Books with an author of children's books.
3. Attended with Sheila NTIS meeting in Lewisville.
4. Euless Music Festival.
5. Trinity H.S. Honor Society providing readers on Thursdays.
6. Meredith McMannis attended the North Euless PTA meeting.
7. Children's services included 27 Story time sessions with 408
children and 55 adults, also seven special programs.

Mrs. Yarbrough reported the following meetings or activities in
October.
1. Friend's of the Library Picnic.
2. Let's Talk About Books.
3. Old Iron Bridge Celebration.
4. Friends of the Library had Annual meeting, and election. The
Friends re-elected Elaine Turner as president.
5. Council meeting where Barbara Thompson & Carolyn Hosts were
Recognized.
6. Head Start Day Care Reception.
7. NTLA area meeting with Alice Ernest.
8. TLA District 7 Fall meeting.
9. TMI.DA award to Mayor Mary Lib Saleh for her service.
10. Meredith McMannis appointed to Program Committee for 1995
TLA Conference.
DISCUSSION OF THE NEW LIBRARY
The Board continued discussions about the new library. Mrs.
Yarbrough reported that the library consultants had a site visit
September 28, 1993. They met with the council first and later with
the Library Board & members of the new committee. Alice Ernest
reported that the consultant and assisting architect presented
various site recommendations and reviewed demographic material.
Mrs. Yarbourgb reported that council members had continued to tour
Irving and Lewisville Libraries. She also reported that the City was
currently in work sessions, and she was confident that one of the
items to be addressed is the future of the library.
ADOPTION OF BY-LAWS
Alice Ernest requested the Board's comments on a draft of the new
By-Laws. Betty Fuller made a motion to adopt the present draft of
the By-Laws. Bill Kirkley seconded the motion. The Library Board
adopted the By-laws by unanimous vote.
There being no further discussion, Chairman Alice Ernest adjourned
the meeting at 7:50 p. m.
