EULESS LIBRARY BOARD
September 2, 1993
Charlie Garrison, Vice-Chairman, called the Euless Library Board to
order at 7:00 p. m. in the Euless Public Library.

DISPOSITION OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING
The Board approved the minutes of the August 5,1993 Euless Library
Board meeting as written subject to the following two changes in the
second paragraph of the Report of Librarian. Items 4 and 7 should
read:
4. Mrs. Yarbourgh visited Irving, Allen, and McKinney Libraries with
Rick Herold & Alice Ernest.
7. Midway Madness Summer Reading Programs at Midway
Recreation Center.
REPORT OF LIBRARIAN
Mrs. Yarbrough reported the August 1993 circulation information.
See the attached documents for exact figures. Mrs. Yarbrough also
reported the Summer Reading Program results. The results were
over 19,605 hours total with over 357 individuals reading 15+ hours!
Mrs. Yarbrough reported the following meetings or activities:
1. Group meeting of schools and public librarians.
2. PLANT retreat on Total Q iality Management.
3. Records Management meeting.
4. K.I.D.S. puppet class & puppet show at Midway Recreation Center.
5. Certificate and Banner for Governor Richards.
6. Library Board appointments, applications available.
7. Betty Fuller and Alice Ernest are lay people representatives to the
North Texas Library Association.

DISCUSSION OF THE NEW LIBRARY
The Board continued discussions about other libraries. Betty
Yarbrough shared ideas and discussion from the visits to the
North Richland Hills Public Library and the Hurst Public Library.
Betty Yarbrough said that Alice Ernest, Tom Cox and Rick Herold also
went on the trip.
DISCUSSION OF BY-LAWS
Charlie Garrison requested the Board's comments on a draft of the
new By-Laws. The Board continued the revision of the By-Laws.
The Euless City Council must approve the By-Laws, so every effort is
being made to eliminate all errors.
FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY REPORT
Elaine Turner, President of the Friends of the Library, reported that
they had a very successful August with over $500 dollars in book
sales. She invited the Library Board members and their families to a
picnic, at the Book Cottage, on October 2, from 5 to 7:00 p.m.
DONATED SHELVING FROM WALDEN BOOKS
Walden books donated two large shelving units. The Library had to
go and get the units from the mall. Betty Yarbrough gave special
thanks to the City employees who assisted in the logistics of this
project and to Walden Books for their generosity.
There being no further discussion, Vice-Chairman Charlie Garrison
adjourned the meeting at 7:50 p. m.
