were approved, after the following changes. The Librarian's Report
was modified, the phrase "of a higher literary quality" now reads
"more appropriate to the students reading level."
REPORT OF LIBRARIAN
Mrs. Yarbrough reported the March 1993 circulation information.
See the attached documents for exact figures. In summary,
circulation was up 2% overall. Mrs. Yarbrough credited the increase
to higher walk-in traffic and her hard working staff. Mr. Boatwright
wanted to know Betty's secret to keeping so many good employees.
He was referring to Sue Marrow & Barbara Thompson who have
worked 25 years with the City of Euless Library, effective this year.
Betty passed out brochure on the Arbor Daze, and reported that the
library would be closed during the celebrations.

DISCUSSION OF THE NEW LIBRARY
A consultant has been selected, reported Mrs. Yarbourgh. His name
is Lee Brauner from Oklahoma City, OK. Mr. Brauner was the
consultant on several local libraries, such as the Irving Public
Library, the Grapevine Public Library, and the Lewisville Public
Library. He is a former employee of the Texas State Library and the
Dallas Public Library. Alice Ernest agreed to write a letter to the City
Council supporting this selection on the behalf of all Euless Board
members.
The Board discussed the need to visit new libraries as soon as
possible. Mrs. Yarbrough agreed to work on setting up a schedule so
that Board members could participate. Mr. Boatwright furnished
several good questions and ideas to ask on our visits.
DISCUSSION OF BY-LAWS
Alice Ernest requested the Board comments on the By-Laws. After
general discussion, it was agreed by the Board that the team of Betty
Yarbourgh and Alice Ernest would draft a new set of by-laws.
FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY REPORT
Elaine reported that the sales for 1/93 were $539.00, 2/93 sales
were $516.00, and 3/93 sales were $735.00. Mrs. Turner expected

There being no further discussion, Chairman Alice Ernest adjourned
the meeting at 7:45 p. m.
