The meeting was called to order by Alice Ernest at 7:00 P.M.

LIBRARIAN'S REPORT:
Betty Yarbrough reported the following statistics for the month of February:
Total circulation: 16,679, a 29.6% increase over 1991
Of 400 new registrations, 321 were adult and 79 were juvenile
Statistics included 108 visits to the Genealogy Room; 1989 videocassettes checked out; walk-in
traffic- 4087; and in-house use of materials 5184 .
Twenty-four volunteers contributed 365 hours of service,
Six hundred fifty-seven children and 116 adults attended 25 storytime sessions conducted by
Meredith McMannis. These numbers included 235 students and 68 adults from St. Vincents
Private School, First Methodist and Baptist Memorial Pre-Schools,

REPORTS:
Elaine Turner, Friends of the Library President, distributed a summary of gifts the Friends have
given the library 1975-1992. The total amount is $32,135.03. The Book Cottage opened October
1985.
NEW BUSINESS:
Betty Yarbrough distributed and discussed Long Range Plan information and workpages, Board
members will bring completed workpages to the April meeting.
