REGULAR MEETING
EULESS PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES
June 7, 1990
CALL TO ORDER
The regular meeting of the Euless Public Library Board of Trustees was called to order by
Chairman Kaye Munden at 7:05 P.M.

The minutes from the previous meeting were approved.
LIBRARIAN'S REPORT:
Betty Yarbrough reported that the total May circulation was 11,034 down 9% from the
previous year. The decreased circulation was attributed to the reduction in hours of operation.
New registrations totaled 200;161 adult and 39 juvenile. Of these, 19 were out of city and 1 was
out-of-county. Sixty-one interlibrary loan requests were processed and 58 books were received.
There were 72 visits to the genealogy room. One visitor to the genealogy room was from Los Altos,
California.
Videocassete checkouts totaled 1 ,450. Video cassette check-outs are limited to one week.
Nine volunteers contributed 98 1/2 hours of service . Two hundred fifty-one children and 38
adults attended 18 storytime sessions.
Meredith McMannis, children's librarian, presented 7 children and 2 adults Ribbon
Awards for Best Bear Program, Sixty-eight Midway Park pre-kindergarten students,under the
supervision of 6 adults, toured the library. Ms. McMannis devoted 20 1/2 hours visiting 107
classes at 4 schools.
Meetings attended included: Beta Phi Mu, PLANT, TCLIS, two City of Euless Strategic
Planning, Lakewood Elementary Awards Program, Community Services Group, and Managers and
Directors. The library was the recipient of 533 new books valued at $2,442.41 donated by Jo
Anne McMillam. Booksmart owner. The library appreciates the donation of the books; however
regrets that the donation was a result of the closing of the store. Anita Head, library volunteer,
will serve as a lay representative to the North Texas Library System (NTLS) meetings.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 7:45 P. M.
