Euless Public Library Board of Trustees
August 2, 1984
CALL TO ORDER
The regular meeting of the Euless Public Library Board of Trustees
was called to order at 7 :00 p.m. by Sue Eichelberger in the Fuller Room of the
Library.

In June there were four puppet shows- with 172 children and 28 adults
attending. In July there were four puppet shows with 161 children and 24
adults.
D. Volunteers
In June 2 volunteers contributed 26 hours; in July 7 volunteers contributed
411 hours.
E. Reports and Meetings
Betty Yarbrough attended the American Library Association annual meeting in
Dallas. She indicated there were excellent exhibits available. She also attended
the Texas Library Annual Assembly and the Friends meeting on the 24th of July.
She said there is no place for the Friends Book Sale as the Trinity Arts Festival
will not be held. The Outlet Mall and Irving Mall were suggested.
BUSINESS
Two resignations were accepted, Sonja Adams and Brenda Ashford; reasons were
noted. Rod Ashford has been moved to the Parks and Recreation Board. Thanks
was expressed to all three for their excellent service. Their presence will
be missed. Other members of the Board are needed.
The sign for the Sis Perkins Room will be hung when proper notification
of family is made and publicity photos can be arranged.
The restructured fees and fines schedule was reviewed and its acceptance
was proposed. Bill Foreman made a motion for approval, seconded by Chuck
Canton, approved by the Board. It will take effect at discretion of the
Librarian.
Judith Brown will be nominated by Betty Yarbrough, approval by the City
Council, as the Lay Representative to the North Texas Library Association. The
next meeting will be on September 6, 1984 in Euless.
In accord with the Library Charter election of officers was held after
each member present briefly introduced themselves and duties of the positions
were explained and discussed. Those elected by unanimous voice approval:

There being no further business discussed, the meeting adjourned at
7:55 p.m. .
