Euless Public Library Board of Trustees
January 5, 1984
CALL TO ORDER
The regular meeting of the Euless Public Library Board of Trustees
was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chairman Sonja Adams in the Fuller Room.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The minutes of the meeting of December 1, 1983 were approved
as written.
LIBRARIAN'S REPORT
A. Statistical Report
Total circulation for December was 7,139, an increase of 14% over
the same period last year. There were 194 registrations in December,
with 45 out of the city and 6 out of the county. Eleven requests
for interlibrary loans were made, with 12 items received. There
were 583 in-house reference questions and 494 by telephone.
Eight-four reserves were checked out. Videocassettes were checked
out 759 times and video games 158 times. Micro computers were
checked out 14 times, cameras 6 times, smoke detectors 2 times,
and 17 art prints were checked out.
B. Genealogy Room
There were 25 visits to the Genealogy Room, with 10 (40%) being
from Euless.
C. Children's Services
There were 6 story time sessions, with 82 children and 12 adults
attending. Five Christmas puppet shows were performed for 105
children and 25 adults. A special film program scheduled for
December 21st had to be cancelled because of inclement weather.
D. Reports and Meetings
The Librarian attended a Tarrant Regional Library Assn. meeting
in Arlington, an Automation Committee meeting and a North Texas
Library Systems Advisory Council meeting in Mineral Wells. She
toured the IBM Special Library at Los Colinas with the Public
Librarians Assn. of North Texas and participated in a meeting
of the American Library Assn. Local Arrangements Committee
meeting to plan activities for the A.L.A. convention next summer.

COMMITTEE REPORTS
The Friends Used Book Store at the Community Center was closed
on December 17, 1984.
Sue Eichelberger reported that she had sent the appropriate thank you
notes as requested by the Board.
COMMUNICATIONS
The Chairman circulated Hurst Library Board Meetings.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
A joint meeting has been proposed for the Library Board and the
City Council on February 28, 1984 prior to the regular meeting of the City Council
on that date. Such a meeting would give the Library Board members an opportunity
to share with the Council members areas of special concern relating to the library.
The Librarian obtained an approval stamp to be placed on all items
prior to display on the library bulletin board.
NEW BUSINESS
The Board reviewed a pamphlet, Facilities Funding Finesse, published
by the American Library Association.
The Librarian reported that the Microfiche Reader-Printer had been
received and installed in the Library.
The Board approved a revised schedule of fines and fees for library
services. The Board further voted to approve revised Policies and Procedures
for use of the Fuller Room of the Library.
