UNFINISHED BUSINESS
The Board continues to be concerned about the leak in the Library
Book Drop because of water damage to library books.
Relating to the Board's discussions about future expansion of Library
facilities, the Librarian reported on her visit with Assistant City Manager
Tom Hart to the Denton Public Library, where a very attractive addition has
been made to that building.
NEW BUSINESS
The Chairman notified the Board that if a quorum is not available for
a Library Board meeting on the scheduled date, i .e. , the first Thursday of the
month, the meeting would be held on the following Thursday, the second Thursday
of the month.
The Board members were advised that Sec. 9, Article IV of the By-Laws
specifying that any Board member who misses three consecutive meetings without
good causes shall be deemed to have resigned will be strictly enforced. The
Board members were emcouraged to attend all meetings and to notify the Chairman
or the Librarian as soon as they were aware of a situation that would prevent
their attendance at a Board meeting.
The Librarian reported that three smoke detectors had been received
in August and were available for check-out for a three-week circulation period.
