Euless Public Library Board of Trustees
January 6, 1983
CALL TO ORDER
The regular meeting of the Euless Public Library Board of
Trustees was called to order at 7:12 p.m. by Chairman Sonja Adams in
the Fuller Room of the Library.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The minutes of the meeting dated December 2, 1982 were approved
as written.
LIBRARIAN'S REPORT
Total circulation for December was 6,287 an increase of 21% over
the same period last year. There were 265 registrations, with 96 out of the
city. Twelve requests for interlibrary loans were made, with 15 books and one
xeroxed article received. There were 210 in house reference questions and 289
by telephone. Eighty-seven reserves were checked out. Fifteen art prints were
checked out. Videocassettes were checked out 292 times and videooames 80 times.
GENEALOGY
There were 42 visits to the Genealogy Room, with 11(26%) being
from Euless.
CHILDREN'S SERVICES
There were 9 storytime sessions, with 132 children and 15 adults
attending. One film program was held, with 39 children and 3 adults in atten-
dance. Twenty-one adults and 68 children attended the four puppet shows. Three
tours were conducted for sixth grade students at Midway Park, with 80 children
and 3 adults participating.

VOLUNTEERS
Three volunteers contributed 19 hours in December.
REPORTS AND MEETINGS
Librarian Betty Yarbrough attended the meeting of the Friends of
the Euless Library, the Advisory Council Meeting in Graham, the Public Library
Administrators of North Texas Meeting in Farmers Branch, a meeting sponsored
by the Fort Worth Independent School District for heads of facilities housing
Adult Basic Education programs, and the Tarrant Regional Library Association
meeting held at the Euless Library.
Reference Librarian, Sally Cook and Sue Morrow, in charge of
Circulation attended an interlibrary loan workshop.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Bill Foreman reviewed with the Board the information provided to
the City Council on library services and the value of such services to the re-
sidents of Euless.
MISCELLANEOUS
Chairman Sonja Adams circulated Hurst and Bedford Library Board
minutes.
NEW BUSINESS
The Library will have reproduceable tax forms for patrons as well
as a three-volume set of reference books containing instructions for using the
various forms.
Mrs. Yarbrough circulated a very attractive and informative brochure
prepared by the Friends of the Library to be included in the packet of informa-
tion distributed by the Welcome Wagon to new residents in the area.
Mrs. Yarbrough also relayed to the Board specifics involving a com-
plaint by a patron about library policy. The Board reviewed the policies and
felt no action was necessary.
The Library received scrap material from Hurst Euless Printing Co.
suitable for making bookmarks. Sonja Adams also provided the Library with a
box of paper cuts she had obtained for making bookmarks.
The Chairman announced she had received verbal notice from Ginger
Smith announcing her resignation from the Board because she has moved out of
the city. The Board regretfully accepts her resignation and wishes to thank
her for her service on the Board.
