Euless Public Library Board of Trustees
December 2, 1982
CALL TO ORDER
The regular meeting of the Euless Public Library Board of Trustees
was called to order at 7:17 P.M. by Chairman Sonja Adams in the Fuller Room of the
Library.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The minutes of the meeting dated November 4, 1982 were approved
as written.
LIBRARIAN'S REPORT
Total Circulation for November was 7,256, an increase of 23% over the
same period last year. The average daily circulation for November was 315. There
were 271 registrations with 74 out of city and 6 out of county. Eighteen requests
for interlibrary loans were made, with 20 items being received. There were 327
in-house reference questions and 386 by telephone. Sixty-two reserves were
checked out. Seven art prints were checked out, and 224 video cassettes. The
14 videogames owned by the Library were checked out 58 times.
GENEALOGY
There were 75 visits in November, with 28 (37%) being from Euless.
CHILDREN'S SERVICES
Thirteen storytime sessions were held, with 285 children and 26
adults attending. There were two film programs for Children's Book Week
with 80 children and 6 adults attending. Five library tours were conducted for 117
children and 9 adults.
VOLUNTEERS
Three volunteers contributed 14 hours in November.
REPORTS AND MEETINGS
Mrs. Yarbrough attended the annual joint PLANT/TRLA meeting.
She also spoke to the Mid-Cities Genealogical Society meeting in November.
Sally Cook attended a workshop in Grapevine on user's fees in the Library.

COMMITTEE REPORTS
Bill Foreman presented a letter to be sent to the City Council
thanking the Council for including the much needed library expansion_in;the
proposed items to be included in the upcoming City bond election. He also
made some recommedations on supporting statistical information about library
services to be sent to the City Council. The Board approved the information
to be provided to the Council.
MISCELLANEOUS
Chairman Sonja Adams circulated Hurst and Bedford Library Board
Minutes. The Board reviewed the City of Euless Parks and Recreation Dept.
Fall Fun brochure which included imformation about library hours and services.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
The Library will participate in Euless Roundup Day, scheduled for
May 21, 1983, with puppet shows and publicity for the Summer Reading Program.
The Friends of the Library will conduct a book sale and membership drive for
Roundup Day.
Chairman Sonja Adams encouraged each Board member to write to the
legislators encouraging their support of the Level 4 funding for the statewide
library development program of the Texas State Library.
NEW BUSINESS
Mrs. Yarbrough announced upcoming meeting of Friends of the Library
and Chairman Sonja Adams encouraged membership by Board members in the Friends
organization.
