Euless Public Library Board Of Trustees
September 2, 1982
CALL TO ORDER
The regular meeting of the Euless Public Library Board of
Trustees was called to order by Chairman Sonja Adams at 7:05 p.m. in
the Fuller Room of the Library.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The minutes of the meeting dated August 5, 1982 were approved
as written.
LIBRARIAN'S REPORT
Total circulation for August was 9,305 compared to 8,563 the
previous year. There were 356 new registrations, with 71 out of the city
and 6 out of the county. Eight requests for inter-library loans were made,
with 5 pieces of material received. There were 265 in-house reference ques-
tions and 418 telephone reference questions. One hundred reserves were check-
ed out.
GENEALOGY
There were 88 visits to the Genealogy Room in August with 32
(28%) being from Euless.
VIDEOCASSETTES
In August 371 videocassettes were checked out.
CHILDREN'S SERVICES
Nine storytime sessions were held in August, with 183 childrens
and 21 adults attending.
Seven special programs were conducted with 219 children and 39
adults attending.

The Librarian reported that 667 children registered for the
Summer Reading Club, with 244 children receiving reading certificates.
Total books read were 7,979.
VOLUNTEERS
Four volunteers contributed 33 hours in August.
MISCELLANEOUS
The Friends of the Library netted $1458.47 on the book sale at
Northeast Mall in August. One-half of the funds will be used to buy Genealogy
books; the other half goes to the Library and will be used to pay the balance
owed on the Art bin ordered for storage of art prints. The Board of Trustees
wishes to thank the Friends of the Library for all the work that went into the
Book Sale to make it so successful.
The Board reviewed the section of the Euless Parks and Recreation
Department Fall Bulletin related to Library information and services.
Thirty-five people are currently enrolled in the GED Program at
the Library.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
The art prints will not be available for check-out until the fee
schedules have been approved by the City Council at the next meeting.
NEW BUSINESS
Sonja Adams circulated the minutes of the Bedford Library Board
meetings.
The Board members were invited to attend the Texas Library Associa-
tion Systemwide Membership Mtg. to be held in Bedford on September 9th.
