CALL TO ORDER The regular meeting of the Euless Public Library Board of Trustees was called to order by Chairman Bill Foreman at 7:03 P.M. in the Fuller Room of the Library. Members Present Staff Present Sonja Adams Betty Yarbrough, Librarian Sue Eichelberger Marilyn Adamson Absent Sis Perkins, excused APPROVAL OF MINUTES The minutes of the meeting dated February 4, 1982 were approved as written. LIBRARIAN'S REPORT Total circulation for February was 7,970 compared to 6,595 the previous year. There were 373 new registrations with 103 being out of the City and 4 out of the County. Six requests for inter-library loans were made with 3 pieces of material received. There were 599 in - house reference questions, 384 by phone with 67 reserves checked out. GENEALOGY There were 89 visits with 40(45%) being from Euless and 1 from Wisconsin. VIDEOCASSETTES In February 121 videocassettes were checked out. STORYTIME Twelve sessions were held with 234 children and 31 adults attend- ing. VOLUNTEERS One Volunteer contributed 6 hours of work in February. Euless Public Library of Trustees Regular Meeting March 4, 1982 - Page Two REPORTS AND MEETINGS Mrs. Yarbrough attended the Advisory Council meeting on February 11th. The libraries will not be receiving any Federal funds this year therefore ending many of the services that were provided. On February 12th Mrs. Yarbrough attended the PLANT which was on user fees. On February 16th she attended the Volunteer Seminar and on February 19th the TRLA meeting. OLD BUSINESS Mrs. Yarbrough reported it would not be feasible at this time to add an additional storytime. Mrs. Yarbrough also reported the "Supermarket of the Mind" logo will be printed on the front of the next Mayors newsletter. NEW BUSINESS During the 1979-80 fiscal year Mrs. Yarbrough reported 2% of the books were not returned to the library with the months of May and August showing the greatest losses. Bill Foreman reported the board is now receiving the Bedford and Hurst.Public Library Board of Trustees minutes. Bill Foreman reported on the Anchorage, Alaska library's presentation program for their new library building. Many of their ideas may be applicable to our needs. The April Board of Trustees meeting has been moved to April 8, 1982 due to a conflict of meetings for Mrs. Yarbrough. Mrs. Yarbrough reported the registration will be paid for any board members that can attend the Texas Library Association Conference on April 1 and 2. She encouraged everyone to attend if possible. On March 8th a workshop on Censorship will be held at Cleburne Public Library. The board regretfully accepts her resignation and wishes to extend to her our appreciation for the time and efforts she put in serving on the Library Board. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 7:53 P.M.
