EULESS PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES
December 4, 1980
CALL TO ORDER
The regular meeting of the Euless
Public Library Board of Trustees was called to order by Chairman,
Bill Foreman at 7 : 35 p.m. in the Fuller Room of the Library.
Other memebers present were Betty Potthoff, Sis Perkins , and Sonja
Adams . Absent were Peggy Waller and Marilyn Adamson.
Also attending was Betty Yarbrough ,
Librarian.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The minutes of the regular meeting
dated November 6, 1980, were approved as read.
LIBRARIAN' S REPORT
Mrs. Yarbrough reported total cir-
culation was down compared with the same time last year. The total
was 5, 609 with one year ago being 7, 131 . There were 683 new regis-
trations with 530 adults and 153 juveniles. There were 70 walk-in
reference questions and 186 phone references . Twenty-two requests
were made for inter-library loans with 12 pieces received. Twenty-
four microfilm request were received. Also, Mrs. Armstrong attended
the Texas Municipal League meeting in Dallas November 9-11 , 1980.
Along with Evelyn Cushman and Sis Perkins , she attended a Genealogy
and Local History workshop.

In November 37 people made 57 visits.

STORYTIME
Mrs . Yarbrough reported storytime
had 9 sessions with 124 children and 19 adults attending. This was
down due to the Thanksgiving holidays.
There were 55 video cassettes
borrowed with 91 showings and 453 viewers . The reason for the
large number of viewers is Euless Junior High showed one to some
of its classes.
For the Children 's Book Week pro-
gram there were 50 children and 9 adults in attendance.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Sis Perkins made a motion that we
move the time of our meetings from 7 : 30 p.m. to 7 : 00 p.m. The
motion was seconded and all voted in favor. Our regular meetings
will now start at 7 : 00 p.m. instead of 7 : 30 p.m.
NEW BUSINESS
Our next scheduled meeting would
fall on New Year ' s Day. It was decided that we would move it to
January 8, 1981; therefore, the next meeting will be January 8 ,
1981 , at 7: 00 p.m.
A letter from the Mid-Cities
Genealogy Society offering their services and help at any time was
read to the board. Attached to the letter was a list of proposed
genealogy books and publishing companies.
After discussion, the Library Board
would like to recommend to the City that the door to the Genealogy
Room be left unlocked and open on a trial basis.
Mrs. Yarbrough recommended that
we look over our library policies, the Library Bill of Rights, and
the Freedom to Read statement .

ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business
the meeting was adjourned at 8 : 44 p.m.
