Regular Meeting
January 4, 1979
CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Dottie Ragley
at 7 : 55 P.M. Members attending:

Also attending were Mrs. Betty Yarbrough, Children' s
Librarian . We had one guest , Mrs. Bonnie O 'Brien.
MINUTES
November minutes stand as read.
LIBRARIAN' S REPORT
The total circulation for November 1978 was 7,349 . There
were 35 Interlibrary Loan requests; there were 37 nieces of
material of which 15 were microfilm that was sent in response
to requests. In November there were 11 Story Hours with 240
neonle attending. was 5 283 . There
The total circulation for December 1978 gas ,
were 40 InterlibraryLoan requests; 41 nieces of material of
which 9 were microfilm, also including 10 Zerox nages. In
December were were 9 Story Hours with 197 attending.
On December 15th, Mrs. Armstrong and Mrs. Yarbrough attended
Tarrant Regional Library Association at the Arlington Public
Library.
On December 5th, the Genealogy Room was oven at the same
hours as the Library itself. The renealory must be kept under
the Dewey Decimal system,it seems that some people have changed
it around. In November there were 59 neonle using the room, and
in December there were 38.
"IEN BUSINESS
There were discussions about items that we have in the
Library, besides books, tares, records, etc . The public should
be aware of what the library has to offer.
Suggestion was made that all members of the Library Board
not subscribed to the Texas Journal from their TLA membership,
except the President .

NEW BUSINESS (cont)
Have someone mention to the City Attorney about the needs
for an ordinance on overdue books.
FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY
The Friends will be having their annual Book Sale at the
North East Mall on the 6th and 7th of Anril . The books most
needed are religious, childrens, cookbooks and educational .
No Readers Digest magazine
It was suggested that the Friends buy a Dolly to have
when they have their Book Sale .
