Regular Meeting
November 2, 1978
CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Dottie Ragley
at 7:40 n.m. Members attending;
Roy Blood
Bill McCray
Terry Wieneke
Sis Perkins
Dottie Ragley
Member absent:
Norma Morelock
Also attending were Mrs. Geneva Armstrong, Librarian,
Mayor Pro Tem Willie Mae McCormick and Mrs. Barbara Zieschang.
Guest were : Mrs. Bonnie O' Brien and Mr. Lynn Shackelford.
MINUTES
Under unfinished business in the September minutes, it
should read TexaSsState Library instead of Texas Library
Association.
LIBRARIAN' S REPORT
The total circulation for the month of October were 5,878 .
There were 121 Adult registrations and 69 childrens registration
which came to a total of 190 . There were 45 Interlibrary Loans,
35 nieces of material which includes books and microfilm.
Had a very good response to amnesty month for overdue
books.
District 7 had their meeting at the University of Texas
at Arlington on the 27th and 28th of October. The sneaker was
Dr. Monroe , who snoke on nrenaring libraries for censorship
nroblems. Dr. Brook Sheldon also talk on communications.
Texas Municinal League met on the 30th and 31st of October.
Mrs. Armstrong attending both days.
There was a recommendation from the Board members to revise
the circulation report . This was to include the previous years
circulation month by month.
NEW BUSINESS
Mr. Lynn Shackelford had a suggestion from the City Manager
to have the Library Board to have each member be assigned a section
of the library to study and or make recommendations concerning
that particular section. To contribute any suggestions or ideas
that they might have or that any citizens might have mentioned
to them. This in turn will be brought un before the Library
Board, then to the City Staff and then to the City Council .
Bill McCray moved that the nolicy rules to the Genealogy
Room be changed to conform to the policy of the Library Rules.
Sis Perkins seconded the motion. All in favor.
Bill McCray also made the motion that the established
Rules of the City of Euless Library as administea by the Librarian
of the City of Euless. He further movecsthat all previous rules

and instruction concerning the Genealogy Room shall be hereby
void and cancelled. Sis Perkins seconded. All in favor.
Peonle using this room must sign in at the checkout desk before
being admitted to the Genealogy Section. The door shall remain
locked until admitted.
Bill McCraw made a motion that the rules be suspended
concerning more than one vote of board concerning this nolicy
change . This was seconded by Roy Blood. All in favor.
ADJOURMENT
No further business, the Chairman adjourned the meeting
at 9 :07 P.M.
