HomeMy WebLinkAbout2020-02 Euless TodayFebruary2020 Dear Citizens, Are you aware of all the wonderful amenities available at Texas Star? Besides a world-class golf course, there is also a versatile Conference Center, a covered outdoor pavilion and a wonderful restaurant, Raven’s Grille. These gems are in our own backyard and available to everyone. Golf fans love the Texas Star Golf Course. It’s pretty and pristine, plus Euless residents get a 15 percent discount on green fees. Across from the 18th hole is the Texas Star Conference Centre. You can rent an intimate room for a group of 12 or a grand room for a group of 325. It’s perfect for corporate events and social occasions, such as baby showers, graduation luncheons, rehearsal dinners and more. The massive outdoor Pavilion, which easily holds 220 people, is ideal for a wedding, reception or family reunion. Of course, Raven’s Grille is a favorite of mine. It has the most wonderful food for breakfast, lunch and dinner! So, the next time you are looking for great meal, golf game or event venue, I hope you check out our own Texas Star. Carr Park has always been a pretty park that’s fun to visit, but now it’s even better than ever. The park has been enhanced through the addition of picnic stations, upgraded playground equipment, parking improvements, fitness stations and an expanded trail network that connects to the north side of the creek with the addition of two walking bridges. Children will especially enjoy the new dinosaur dig and new playground equipment, which includes a ZipKrooz®. Although similar to a zip line, ZipKrooz is a two- way, smooth ride with a comfortable seat suspended by a rubber-wrapped chain. It provides exciting and safe play for ages 5 to 12. To date, the Euless Library Foundation (ELF) has raised over $74,000 of its $100,000 goal for the Bubble Wall. The Bubble Wall will include LED color-changing lighting and a completely sealed water system requiring no maintenance. Visitors will be greeted with the changing colors and constant movement of encapsulated bubbles floating up a wall. This beautiful Bubble Wall will be the focal point and highlight of the reimagined library entrance and public lounge space. At 10 feet tall and 30 feet wide, the glass wall can be enjoyed from either side. You can see a video of the Bubble Wall on the ELF website (www.EulessLibraryFoundation. org) and even make a donation. Donations of any amount are accepted and appreciated!
