Regular Meeting
October 6, 1977
CALL TO C1RDER
The meeting was called to order at 7: 30 p.m. by Vice-
Chairman Roy Blood. Members attending: Roy Blood, Norma
Forelock, Inez Morrison and Sis Perkins. Members absent :
Bill McCray and Dottie Ragley.
Also attending: Mrs . Geneva Armstrong, Librarian and
Barbara Zieschang.
MINUTES September 1, 1977
No corrections forthcoming, the minutes were declared
approved as written, by the Vice-Chairman.
LIBRARIAN' S REPORT Mrs . Armstrong
Cur Fiscal Year total includes the following: There
were fourteen organized tours with the total of 413 people ,
also 50 Story Hours with 1,127 attending. The Summer Film
Program had 1,357 attending.
Total registrations averaged over 200 per month. The
overdue notices mailed out were 1,162. There were 3,265
incoming phone calls , this included 760 Reference questions.
The outgoing phone calls were 4,194; Reserves came toga
total of 1, 344; Interlibrary Loan was 480 ; and Misc . was
722.
Reserved Books came to a total 616, and Interlibrary
Loan requests were 418. Pieces of material sent in response
to Interlibrary Loan was 410.
The Chairman, Dottie Ragley asked sometime ago for a
break down of Book Purchasing Funds. They are as follows :

NORTH TEXAS LIBRARY SYSTEM Barbara Zieschang
Barbara Zieschang announced that she was no longer
on the Council of Ma or Resourses as of the 6th of October.
SOCIAL C01 CERNS Barbara. Zieschang
Collections and Distribution. There will be a Luncheon
on the 13th of October of the Board of Directors for their
yearly report .
Education and Prevention. Family Services are having
two different Group Sessions for Adolescent and Adult couples,
or Thursday and Friday evenings . They are having two interns
from the University of Texas ,Arl n_mton to help. They will be
under Rod Hickman.

SOCI AT CONCERT?S (cont . )
United Way Planning and Research Council will help
again this year to conduct a community survey to establish
what social programs exist in the city according to quantity
and citizens opinion.
NEW BUSINESS
Mrs . Armstrong recommended that the Library Board
members go to the District VII Annual Meeting, which will
be held on the 14th and 15th of October at Runaway Bay.
A place has been found for the storage of books , for
the annual Book Sale of the Friends . It is a locked
building at the Service Center.
Need a Chairman of Volunteers for the Genealogy Room,
also need Volunteers .
Norma Forelock gave a report on the Last Bicentennial
Sun Dial Meetinm. The money that is left over and the money
coming in mom the Medallions will go towards buying books
for the Genealogy Room.
ADJOURMENT
There being no further discussion, the Vice-Chairman
adjourned the meeting at 8: 05 p.m.
