JC Penny's gave local libraries collections of Bi-Centennial Sheet music, and instrumental parts for ensemble. COUNCIL FOR SOCIAL CONCERNS - Barbara Zieschang Due to resignations of several members, the Council of Social Concerns has not had a quorum for two months and no regular meetings, however work on several projects have been continued. The Citizens Guide to the City of Euless pamphlet we'd hoped to have printed through United Way struck a problem. Original EULESS PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES - May 13, 1976 - Page 2 estimates from United Way were based on winter press-time. The presses are now being used full-time on spring and summer agency pub- lications and off-time printing will not be available until next winter. Investigating other technical printing facilities for off- time reveals the same general situation, so we will ask the City to check their printing sources for publication of the pamphlet. A meeting between the Park Department and the Council of Social Concerns about activities for Jr. High age produced a good exchange of ideas and request for copies of our Jr. High Survey for Park Board Members. In April , Social Concerns was contacted by a local minister to help a family with four children who were being evicted and needed extensive counseling and agency help. A local family offered to care for all four children and the parents consulted Family Service and Social Concerns contacted various churches in the area for clothing and infant equipment and received excellent cooperation. All four children are now basically clothed, the two older children are in school., and the four year old was tested for kindergarten for the coming year and the eleven month old is thriving on good food and good care. Still needed are two chester drawers and a swing set. FRIENDS OF THE EULESS LIBRARY - Dottie Ragley Good meetings held at Sotogrande. The Book Sale at N. E. Mall on March 9th and 10th earned $500.00.
