Regular Leeting - September 5, 1973
CALL TO ORDER

The regular meeting of the Euless Library Board was called to order in
the Fuller Room of the Library by Mr. Hugh '4aite, Chairman, at 7:30 P.E.
Members present were as follows: Messrs Hugh aite, George Barroweliff, and
Carl Haskins; lesdms Bernard Mathews, Barbara Zieschang, and David hjell.
Also present were Yrs. Armstrong, Librarian and guests Mr. Dunn and
Mrs. McCormick, Council members of Euless. Mayor Krause was also present.
MINUTES
The Minutes were approved as read.
LIBRARIAN'S REPORT
1. All Council members and Mayor received copies of the Minutes of the
previous meeting.
2. Library Board Members were invited to attend the District VII of
Texas Library Association meeting in Bridgeport at Runaway hay on
October 4-5, 1973.
3. Mrs. Armstrong attended a meeting "Management of Small Libraries,"
from which she received many ideas.
4. Two articles about the Euless Library appeared in the local newspaper.
5. Mrs. Armstrong hopes to attend a planning meeting of the Library
Association which will be held in Dallas.
6. Mrs. Armstrong stated that she is unable to hire part time help
for the library at the current wage scale.
7. The "Circulation Record with Cumulative Totals" for October 1972 -
September 197-e was Eiven to each member and discussed. very briefly.
A copy of this record is included.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
The uestionaire "About your Library" was further discussed. About 250
of these questionaires have been returned. The suggestion of the
questionaire being included in the mailing of the Mayor's Newsletter
was still undecided. Mrs. Armstrong and Mrs. Zieschang will tabulate
the results with the help of Mr. 'daite.

The Tarrant County Public Library will be holding a meeting on September
24) 1973 at the Tarrant County Commissioner's Court, regarding the
county wide library program. Proposals will be presented at that time.
Mr. Dunn presented "Ordinance No. 451" to the members of the board.
An explanation and discussion followed. A member of the Library Board is
to be chosen to be included in the Council for Social Concerns, as
enacted. in the ordinance. A copy of the Ordinance No. 451 is included.
ADJOURNMENT
The meeting was declared adjourned. at 9:45 by Chairman 4aite.
