JULY 11 , 1973
Call to Order
The regular meeting of the Euless Library Board was called to order in the
William G. Fuller Room of the Library by Chairman Hugh Waite at 7:45 P.M. Members
present were Messrs Hugh Waite, Carl Hankins; Mesdms Barbara Zieschang and Bonnie
Mathews . Absent were George Barrowcliff and Mrs . Janette Kjell .
Also present was Mrs . Geneva M. Armstrong, Librarian .
Minutes
The minutes of last meeting, June 6, 1973 were approved as read .
Librarians Report
Circulation for June was 8,599. This includes tapes, pictures and games .
Memorandum from Dr. Dorman H . Winfrey, director of Texas State Library, stating
the Euless Library is eligible for continuing membership as a Community Library in
the Fort Worth Major Resource System.
Dr. Winfrey also notified Dan Reynolds , member of the Fort Worth Major Resource
System Council that Federal funds for libraries had been released.
The Library's Summer Reading program has 325 participants and the Thursday
Morning Story hour attendance has grown from 7 to 17.
Civil Service System Personal Record forms have been received by Library
personnel .
Copies of Library questionairs have been taken to the First National Bank
of Euless for mailing with bank statements , others placed on the counter at the
Water Department and in the Library. Completed ones are beginning to come in.
Nothing further has been heard concerning the Summer School Library Program.
Special Committee
Mr. Waite has a meeting scheduled with Mayor Krause, as soon as the mayor
is able to be out, to discuss the School Library Program and will report to the
Board at the next meeting.
Unfinished Business
The Special Committee will also bring to the attention of the mayor the broken
table that is in need of repair.
The Library Questionaire will be evaluated at the next meeting.
New Business
The Special Committee will find out from Mayor Krause why certain materials
were removed from the Library by city employees without notification or warning to
the Librarian .
Copies of the minutes of the June 6, 1973 meeting and the minutes of this
meeting are to go to Mayor Krause and to each member of the City Council .
The Tarrant County Library Study Committee Report was discussed. The minutes
of the regular meeting of June 7, 1973, minutes of the Special Budget Committee of
T C L S C of June 21 , 1973 and a letter dated June 25, 1973 from the T C L S C to
all Library Board Chairmen in Tarrant County are to be a part of the minutes of
this meeting.
The Meeting was declared adjourned at 9:10 P.M. by Chairman Waite.
