Euless Library Board

C^:LL TC ORDER
The regular meeting of the Euless
Library Board was called to order in the Fuller Room of the
Library at 6: 50 P.M. by Mr. W. W. McCormick, chairman.
Members present as iollows: Messrs W. W. McCormick, George
Scott, George narrowciiff, and Hugh Waite; Mesdms Barnard
I'-athews and t. R. Zieschang.
Also present was Mrs. Geneva Armstrong,
Librarian.
MINUTES
The minutes of the February meeting
were read and the following corrections noted: in the Librarian's
Report, representatives from the Salvation Army, Low Income
_!-sousing Agency, et al, will send their lists of available
equipment to the Fort Worth Major miesource :;enter instead of
their local libraries; under Ite,,,s For City Council r_eeting,
TCU Civic Afiairs Report is being studa.ed and to be voted on
by the County Commissioners. After corrections were noted,
a motion was mace to approve corrected minutes by Mr. l'arrowcliif,
seconded by Mr. Scott. Vote as follows: ayes, all members;
nays , none. Chairman declared tne minutes approved.
LIBRARIAN'S R ErORT
Mrs. Armstrong reported an increase
in circulation of 44. 57 over the first two months of 1971 .
A formal "'Thank You" was given to Bonnie Mathews and Barbara
Zieschang who came to help in the Library on rebruery 16 when
Flu had reduced li Jrary personnel to Mrs . Armstrong and one
regular worker.
Mrs. Linda nonaker, hEB Elementary
Library Coordinator was guest spdker at Tarrnnt Regional
Library association meeting at rticnland hills Library on
February 18. She spoke on the needs of pre-scnooi and special
education children.
The Grapevine Public Library Board
member, Mr. Joe kennedy, requested copies of the Euless Library
Board By-Laws and the book selection policy, etc. , wltn_ which
Irs. Armstrong complied.
North Public Library regarding letter was received rror_� the Fort

The Title :I Grant of ( 5,Ouu is to
be aiviacd rougnly as rollows: 33,000 or early childhood
enrichment, and 4,2,000 for the aging. Catalogs, brochures,
pamphlets , price lists , etc. are being assembled from various
sources for prices and subject matter. Only one requisition
has been submittisd; on Iarch 1 , 1972 a requisition for a
Talking Cassette Encyclopedia (for preview) costing V>460.

at , osier Valley, and Ir. Beanie Wilcox, Jr. , Youth Program
Coordinator will meet with Yrs. Armstrong on r rch 9 regarding
tne use of books and materials for special tutoring classes,
black culture study and arts and crafts to be included in the
summer program.
National Library Week in Texas will
be April 16-22. The Texas Library r:ssociation will convene
in Galveston April 4-7tn.
Gift of a book by ie'rs. Huila Waite
is noted and appreciated. The book is Bird Ambulance, by
Arlene Thomas.

Fr. will meet with the City
Council on larch 14 to express the opinion of the 'bard concerning
the TCU Civic Affairs Report. Per. Waite has seen Fr. Griggs
and has presented the letter from J r. Wages concerning Summer
Libraries and has been assured that action can now proceed.

aoout our belated '3y-Laws, copies of which are still being
awaited by the board.
GIFT
A gift of 30 stereo ana Eon-aural
records to add to our collection was acknowledged by 1rs.
Armstrong. Donors were the W. R. Zieschang Family.
