The regular rooting of the Euless
Library `3oa rd was c:�:l±ed. to order in the Fuller Room of
the Library by Yr. W. FcCormick, chairman, at 6: 5U P.Y.
I er bers present as follows: Messrs W. W. VcCormick,
beorge ?3arrowcliff, George Scott, hugh Waite; kesdms
ernard Fathews, W. R. Zieschang.

Finutes of the December meeting
were read and approved. kotion that they be approved F_p.s
made by Yrs. Fathews , seconded by Fr. Scott. Vote, as
follows: :yes , all members; nays , none. Chairman declared
minuted approved as read.
LIBRARIAI'? 'S REPORT
Yrs. Armstrong reported a decrease
in circulation of -170 compared with January of 19'/1 . in
spite of this , we are holding our own compared to other
area libraries. She reported a visit with :Bedford Librarian,
Bonnie Finn, with whom she shared r r. i;icCormick 's idea of
offering information on the Library hcurs and services to
the Welcome 'Wagon Lady for local distribution. r rs. Armstrong
indicated that our annual report to the Texas State Library
has been sumitted and that our special project shall concern
early childhood enrichment and services to the aged and
shut-ins. A Workshop was attended by Frs . Armstrong on
February 11 attended also by representatives from the
Salvation Army, Low Income 7Zousing Agency, Community Action
Agency, and differant Senior Citizen and Rest home groups.
Each group will send it ' s local Library a listing of the
equ_ipment ,i. .e. , projectors , tape-recorders , record-players ,
etc . , which will help the Li ;rari_es choose software materials
to be made available to utilize existing equipment. one
activity suggested was an oral history or the area or pio-
neer history on tape. r rs. Linda sona. er, head of libraries
for the ,u st- uless-Bedford School System spoke with
:rr=_strong about materials available and needed for pre-school
and early school age children, and special education students.
The Fort Worth ka jor Resource Center
is planning to offer a course on Reference Procedures for
library workers taught by . C. Fischer, Librarian of
the Fort Worth Public :..ibrary. All area libraries are urged
to participate in order to standardize these procedures.
The Organization Feeting of the
Fa jor Resource Center advisory boa rd was held on February
10 in Fort Worth. Yrs. Zieschang, secretary or the baaless
Library board, attended as our Library ' s represeL.tative, and
was elected one of five out of eighteen representatives to

the Advisory Board for a term of two years. The Board
members and their libraries are as follows: Mrs. Marcus
Lopin, chairman (compulsory member as largest library)
Fort 'ortn Public Library; Mr. Dan Reynolds, vice-chairman,
Arlington Public Library; Yrs. Zieschang , secretary, Euless
Public Library; Mrs. William I'irksey, Ricnlaud Mills Public
Library; Dr. David F. Speck, Denton Public Library; and
1:r. Louis Pitcock, Jr. , Graham Public Library. This Resource
Center administrates to 22 counties and hopes to incorporate
services of academic and technical libraries inuo the
available resources of the area.

Pr. George Scott has agreed to
buy a special order of bookmarks with the hours and services
of the Library printed thereon for distribution turough
t ue 'Welcome agon Service and the Li vary issue desk.
Ir. Scott also gave the Library two projectors, a 35mm
Tel- `.-Story 14 picture repeater and a View-s aster.
SUMMER LIBRARIES RErCRT
Yr. "Mite reported tnat the City
Council needs a letter of intent from i"r. Wages, HOB School
Superintendent , stating that the School Administration will
agree to the same contract concerning summer libraries
located in Wilshire and Oakwood Terrace Elementary Schools
wnich it has entered into with the City of Hu st. Secretary
was so intructed.

Mrs. Matnews moved tnat the City
Council be informed or the Board' s feelings about the TCU
Civic Affairs Report and Recommendations now being studied
and to be voted on by the City Commissioners, said feelings
being that these recommendations as they concern the libraries
of Tarrant County are not in the best interests of Euless
or Tarrant County.y Y ors. Ziescnang seconded the motion. The

vote as follows: ayes , all members present; nays, none. Mr.
Waite said he will so inrorm the Ctty Council. He also offered
to ask that the By-Laws of the Board be typed and issued to
board meizbers.
INTERLIBRARY AID
Yrs. Armstrong in rormed the Board that
the 'Mite Settlement Public Library requested copies as
examples of our By-Laws and Book Selection Policies with
which she complied.
