Euless Library Board
July 16, 1971
CALL TO ORDER
The regular meeting of the Euless Library
Board was called to order at 6:55 P.M. in the Fuller Room of Euless Public
Library by Mr. George Scott, Chairman. Members present are listed, as follows :
Mrs. Bernard Mathews , Messrs. Hugh Waite, George Barrowcliff, George Scott and
W. W. McCormick. (Absent was Mrs. W. R. Zieschang.)
Also present was Mrs. Geneva Armstrong,
Librarian.
LIBRARIAN'S REPORT,
MRS . GENEVA ARMSTRONG
Circulation Report
Mrs. Armstrong reported an increase of
7.2% for the first six (6) months of 1971 over the first six (6) months of
1970. (Written report on file in Office of the City Secretary)
Summer Reading Program
Mrs. Armstrong advised that there are
six hundred, four (604) registered participants in the Summer Reading Program.
She reported that the Story Hour has been attended by from forty (40) to fifty
(50) children each week.
Results of Antitrust Litigation
Mrs. Armstrong reported that Euless
Public Library has received a payment of $187.19, which represents partial
settlement of the antitrust litigation resulting from the "price fixing" of
books by publishers.

ELECTION OF OFFICERS
Chairman
Mr. Waite nominated Mr. McCormick to
serve as Chairman of the Euless Library Board. Mr. Barrowcliff seconded the
nomination, and the vote is as follows:
Ayes : Messrs. Waite, Barrowcliff, Scott and Mrs. Mathews
Nays : None
Chairman Scott declared Mr. McCormick duly elected to the office of Chairman
and relinquished the chair to Chairman McCormick.

Vice-Chairman
Mrs. Mathews nominated Mr. Waite to serve
as Vice-Chairman. Mr. McCormick seconded the nomination, and the vote is as
follows :
Ayes : Mrs. Mathews, Messrs. McCormick, Scott and Barrowcliff
Nays : None
Chairman McCormick declared Mr. Hugh Waite duly elected to the office of Vice-
Chairman.
Secretary
Mr. Waite nominated Mrs. Zieschang to
serve as Secretary of the Library Board. Mr. Barrowcliff seconded the nomina-
tion, and the vote is as follows :
Ayes : Mrs. Mathews, Messrs. Barrowcliff, McCormick, Scott
and Waite
Nays: None
Chairman McCormick declared Mrs. Zieschang duly elected to the office of
Secretary.
Historian
Mr. Barrowcliff nominated Mrs. Mathews
to serve as Historian for the Library Board. Mr. Waite seconded the nomina-
tion, and the vote is as follows :
Ayes : Messrs. Barrowcliff, Waite, McCormick and Scott
Nays: None
Chairman McCormick declared Mrs. Mathews duly elected to the office of Historian.
III .
ADJOURNMENT
Mr. Scott moved to adjourn the meeting.
Mr. Waite seconded the motion, and the vote is as follows :
Ayes : Mrs. Mathews, Messrs. Scott, Barrowcliff, Waite and
McCormick
Nays : None
Chairman McCormick declared the motion carried, and the meeting was adjourned
at 8:00 P.M.
