Regular Meeting
Euless Library Board
March 24, 1971
CALL TO ORDER
The regular meeting of the Euless Library
Board was called to order at 6:30 P.M. , in the Fuller Room of Euless Public
Library, with Chairman George Scott presiding. Members present are listed as
follows : Mesdms. Bernard Matthews, W. R. Zieschang and George Goss, Messrs.
W. W. McCormick and George Scott. (Absent: Mrs. Jarrell Bolton)
Also present was Mrs. Geneva Armstrong,
Librarian.
CORRECTION OF MINUTES ,
JANUARY 15, 1971
Item I , LIBRARIAN'S REPORT, Minutes of
regular meeting dated January 15, 1971 , was corrected as follows :
Paragraph One: Mrs. Geneva Armstrong, Librarian, reported an increase of 10.6%
over previous year in the circulation of books at Euless Public Library.
Paragraph Four: Mrs. Armstrong announced that the T.R.L.A. meeting was held at
Euless Public Library on January 15, 1971 .

LIBRARIAN 'S REPORT,
MRS. GENEVA ARMSTRONG
Mrs. Armstrong reported that records in-
dicate an 18. 1% increase in circulation for January, 1971 , over the month of
January, 1970, and an 11 .4% increase for February, 1971 , over February, 1970.
She advised that, at this time, the circulation of adult books exceeds juvenile
books. (Copy of Circulation Report on file in Office of the City Secretary)
Mrs. Armstrong advised that she plans
to attend the State Library Convention to be held in Corpus Christi , Texas on
March 31 through April 3, 1971 .

DISCUSSION OF PLANS FOR OBSERVANCE
OF NATIONAL LIBRARY WEEK,
APRIL 18-24, 1971
Plans were revealed concerning a Book
Review to be presented in observance of National Library Week. The book en-
titled "Try Giving Yourself Away" will be reviewed by Mrs. Katherine Manning
(Paqe Two, Minutes of Regular Meeting, Euless Library Board, March 24, 1971)
at 10:00 A.M. , Wednesday, April 21 , 1971 .
Mr. McCormick moved to designate National
Library Week, April 18-24, 1971 , as Amnesty Week at Euless Public Library.
Mrs. Goss seconded the motion, and the
vote is as follows :
Ayes : Mesdms. Goss, Mathews, and Zieschang, Messrs. McCormick
and Scott
Nays : None
Chairman Scott declared the motion carried.
Mr. McCormick moved to request First
State Bank to post National Library Week information on its marquee. Mrs .
Mathews seconded the motion.
The vote on the question was not record-
ed; however, Chairman Scott declared the motion carried.
Mrs. Mathews moved to request that First
State Bank and First National Bank be asked to include announcements about the
location of Euless Public Library. Mr. McCormick seconded the motion.

IV.
ADJOURNMENT
Mr. McCormick moved to adjourn the meet-
ing. Mrs. Goss seconded the motion.
The meeting was adjourned at 7: 10 P.M.

Apparently the Euless Library Board did not meet in February, 1971 .
