Euless Library Board
January 15, 1971
CALL TO ORDER
The regular meeting of the Euless Library
Board was called to order at 6:50 P.M. , in the Fuller Room of Euless Public
Library, with Chairman George Scott presiding. Other members present are list-
ed as follows : Mr. W. W. McCormick, Mesdms. George Goss, W. R. Zieschang and
Bernard Mathews. (Absent: Mrs. Jarrell Bolton.)
Also present was Mrs. Geneva Armstrong,
Librarian.
LIBRARIAN'S REPORT,
MRS . GENEVA ARMSTRONG
Mrs. Geneva Armstrong, Librarian, report-
ed an increase of 10.6% in the circulation of books at Euless Public Library.
The Librarian reported that the City of
Euless was notified that a Title I Grant, in the amount of $2500.00, has been
approved for Euless Public Library.
Mrs. Armstrong requested that Members of
the Library Board write letters to Members of the State Legislature, urging
them to vote favorably on legislation pertaining to the Library Systems Act
Fund.
Mrs. Armstrong announced that the T.R.L.A.
meeting which was originally scheduled to be held at Euless Public Library on
January 15, 1971 , was re-scheduled to meet in the City of Arlington.
II .
RECOGNITION OF MID-CITIES ART
ASSOCIATION FOR FINE ARTS DISPLAY
Members of the Board discussed the fine
arts recently displayed in Euless Public Library by members of the Mid-Cities
Art Association.
Mr. Scott and Mrs. Armstrong suggested
that a letter of appreciation be sent to Mrs. Nita Willis of that organization.
III .
DISCUSSION OF PROBLEM CONCERNING
CHILDREN PLAYING IN LIBRARY BUILDING
Members of the Board discussed the problems
created by children coming to the library to play during the lunch hour, when

the recreation building is closed.
Mr. McCormick moved that a letter be
transmitted to City Manager C. J. Griggs, requesting that the recreation build-
ing remain open during the lunch hour, to prevent children invading the library
for play at that time.
Mrs. Goss seconded the motion.

question.)

ADJOURNMENT
Mrs. Goss moved to adjourn the meeting.
Mrs. Mathews seconded the motion.
