Euless Library Board
March 20, 1970
CALL TO ORDER
The regular meeting of the Euless
Library Board was called to order at 7:20 P. M. , in Euless Public Library,
with Vice Chairman George Scott presiding. Members present are listed, as
follows : Mesdms. Winifred Goss and Ruby Harris, Messrs. W. W. McCormick and
Scott. (Mr. Wayne O ' Daniel arrived later in the evening. ) (Absent : Mrs.
Wallace R. Zieschang. )
Also present was Mrs. Geneva Armstrong,
Librarian.
LIBRARIAN'S REPORT
Mrs. Geneva Armstrong reported on the
Tarrant Regional Librarian 's Association Meeting recently held in the City
of Haltom City.
Mrs. Armstrong presented a letter con-
cerning the handling of over-due books, for review by Library Board Members.
In a discussion, Mr. Scott requested that Mrs. Armstrong make further inquiries
regarding the effectiveness of this method before the Board submits a recommenda-
tion to the City Manager. Further discussion of the matter determined that, provid-
ing this new policy is adopted, publicity concerning the new procedure would be
desirous. The Librarian agreed to contact representatives of local newspapers
concerning this matter.
Mrs. Armstrong reported that Haltom City
Library recently received ninety (90) easy reader books for adults, from the
State Library. These books were obtained on a permanent loan basis and will be
available on inter-library loan.
Mrs. Armstrong reported on a workshop she
recently attended in the City of Cleburne.

ANNOUNCEMENT CONCERNING PLANS
FOR LIBRARY BENEFIT PROGRAM
Mrs. Armstrong advised that the Euless
Public Library was contacted by Mrs. Bonnie Matthews, President of Friends
of the Library, who advised that a Musical Book Review has been scheduled,
and proceeds will go to Euless Public Library. The Book Review will be held
at Wilshire Elementary School Cafetorium on April 17, 1970.

Mrs. Armstrong reported that circulation
figures are as follows:

February, 1970 - 5,736
