Euless Public Library Board
September 19, 1969
CALL TO ORDER
The regular meeting of the Euless Library
Board was called to order at 7:00 P. M. in Euless Public Library, with Chair-
man Wayne O 'Daniel presiding. Other members present are listed , as follows:
Mr. W. W. McCormick; Mesdms. Barbara Ziescha,g and Ruby Harris. (Absent:
Mr. George E. Scott and Mrs. George Goss)
Also present was Librarian, Mrs . Geneva
Armstrong.
LIBRARIAN'S REPORT,
MRS. GENEVA ARMSTRONG
A written report concerning Library circu-
lation figures was presented by Mrs. Armstrong. (A copy of this report is
attached to and made a part of these minutes.)
Mrs. Armstrong reported that the Budget
for the Fiscal Year 1969-70 includes an increase , in the amount of $1 ,000.00,
in the allocation for purchase of Library books.
Mrs. Armstrong announced that Miss Sandra
Gray is the new Field Consultant for Texas State Library -- that Miss Gray
recently visited Euless Public Library and was favorably impressed with the
facilities .
The Librarian reported that Fort Worth
Library has discontinued its Centralized Processing Service -- that this ac-
tion will greatly curtail Euless Public Library's purchasing power, as the
39% discount will also be discontinued .
Mrs. Armstrong advised that she antici-
pates the arrival of the display concerning Services for the Blind some
time next month.

DISCUSSION ON PURCHASE OF
TAPES AND MICROFILM
In reply to a question from Mrs. Harris,
concerning the $250.00 allocated in March , 1968, for the purchase of tapes
and microfilm, Mrs. Armstrong advised that microfilms of periodicals have

been purchased; however, no tapes have been purchased to date.
Members of the Board discussed the merits
of tapes in comparison with books , since the Library Budget is limited.
Chairman 0 °Daniel requested that Mrs.
Armstrong investigate the cost of tapes and submit ,a report at the next regu-
lar meeting of the Library Board.
