M. in Euless Public Library, by ha;rman Wayne O 'Daniel . Members present are listed as follows: Mesdms. Berbera Zieschang, Winifred Goss and Ruby Harris; Messrs. W. W. :4cCOrmick, BC) Scott and Wayne O'Daniel . Also present was Librarian, Mrs. Geieva Armstrong. LIBRARIAN'S REPORT Notes from the meeting indicate this_ Mrs. Armstrong reported on the Summer Reading Program; however, no details were submitted. Mrs. Armstrong, Librarian, presented written reports indi ;ating circulation figures for the months of March, April , May and June, 1969. (Copies on file in Office of the City Secretary.) II . BRIEFING OF NEW MEMBERS For the benefit of members recently appointed to the Library Board, Chairman O 'Daniel read C !ty of Euless Ordinance No. 319, by which the Department of Public Lib -aries was created and a Library Board was established. III . REQUEST FOR AUDIT OF FEDERAL FUNDS Mr. O'Daniel reported that he received a letter from the Texas State Library Association concerning an audit of federal funds. Chairman O 'Daniet requested that the Librarian contac : the Office of the City Secretary to ascertain accomplishment of this audit. IV. REQUEST FOR INCREASE IN LIBRARY BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR )969-70 Chairman Q'Daniel reported that Fed':ral Funds have been reduced and recommended that the Library Board urge tie (Page Two, Regular Meeting of the Euless Library Board, July 17; 1969) City of Euless to increase the Library Budget for the Fiscal Year 1969-70 from $2,000.00 to $5,000.00. Mr. Scott made a motion that the Board urge the City to grant an increase, from $2,000.00 to $5,000.00 to the Library Budget. There was no second to the motion, but the vote is as follows: Ayes: Messrs. McCormick, Scott and O'Daniel ; Mesdms. Zieschang, Harris and Goss Nays: None Chairman O 'Daniel declared the motion carried. V. DISCUSSION OF CENSORSHIP Mrs. Armstrong reported that she received a letter from Mrs. Audrey Streeter concerning the book "Pretty Maids All In A Row" by Francis Pallin. Members of the Board were in agreement that a letter should be transmitted advising Mrs. Streeter that Euless Library Board does not censor; however, this particular book is not in the Teen Section of Euless Public Library. VI . WELCOME OF NEW LIBRARY BOARD MEMBERS New Library Board members were welcomed and urged to participate fully. VII . ADJOURNMENT The meeting adjourned. (Time of adjournment was not reflected in notes submitted by Library Board Secretary.)
