A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EULESS,
TEXAS AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENACT MODIFIED
PERSONNEL POLICIES IN EMERGENT SITUATIONS.
WHEREAS, the City of Euless has approved personnel policies applicable to City
employees; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to provide the City Manager with authorization
to enact modified personnel policies during emergent situations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF EULESS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1.
The City Council of the City of Euless hereby approves and authorizes the City
Manager to enact personnel policies in emergent situations that provide for business
continuity or consider the health, safety, and welfare of the public or city employees. An
emergent situation is any emergent or catastrophic situation or event that impacts the
health, safety, and welfare of the public or city employees, such as an act of terrorism,
disease outbreak, or natural disaster.
SECTION 2.
The City Manager may enact or revise personnel policies in emergent situations
provided that for any policy that has financial implications the City Manager shall provide
immediate notification to the City Council. Any such policy shall be temporary and limited
to the duration of the event. If it is necessary for the policy to be enacted long-term or
permanently, it shall require City Council approval.
SECTION 3.
This resolution shall be in effect upon passage and approval by the City Council.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Euless City
Council on March 24, 2020, by a vote of 7 ayes, 0 nays, and 0 abstentions.
